His, Citizen Voices, predominately utilizes organic shapes to show the women of the nearby colleges in Denton. The irregular shapes, often curving or diagonal lines created to depict the movement of women’s equality. The color scheme used by the artist was a cool or autumn set of colors to show the season of going to college is in the fall. He changes the color and shows emptiness with the color white to transition between each subject of the piece to provide a real sense of being in college. Very few public educations existed and most went bankrupt do to lack of support. The Citizens of Denton County formed a committee to fund universities themselves, or have state legislation fund them. Five institutions emerged after this and only three now remain: University of North Texas, Texas Women’s University, North Central Texas College.
