Have you ever wanted to do something adventurous but you're not sure why? Maybe it was out of impulse or maybe there was a logical explanation as to why you wanted to do something so different. The book Into the Wild’s main character Chris McCandless was adventurous his whole life, he never worried about fitting in or being different he just wanted to be him. He was never a materialistic person. Chris’s father bribed him with new cars and clothes and just things that Chris didn't believe was really that necessary to be happy, and his father only wanted Chris to love him and accept him and what he has done. Chris set out on an adventure, for 2 years, trying to escape something. So what really drove Chris McCandless into the wild? Despite the fact that family problems and emotional damage may have caused his decision to go into the wild, it is only reasonable to say that the literature Chris read prior to going on his “adventures” truly drove him into the wild because he never knew who he really was and he wanted to find himself like the authors did in his readings.
