Recommended: Impact of media on childhood development

The book is called Chomp by Carl Hiaasen. The genre of the book is realistic fiction. Wahoo Cray, the main character, lives in a zoo. His father, Mickey Cray, is an animal wrangler, so Wahoo is accustomed to gators, rats, parrots, and other animals. But one day, while Mickey is sitting in his backyard, a frozen iguana drops down from a tree and hits Mickey in the head! Mickey sustains a concussion, so despite getting job offers, he cannot accept them. The Cray family almost runs out of money, so Wahoo’s mother decides to go to China and teach, to earn more money for their family. But one day, Mickey and Wahoo get a phone call about a TV job offer (Expedition Survival!) for $1,000 a day! They accept it, but then there is one problem: when shooting an Everglades scene, Derek Badger (the star of a show) gets on their alligator’s back, Alice, and Alice spins him around wildly! He is then inspired to shoot a real Everglades scene but then goes missing! They also meet a girl named Tuna (that is her real name) who joins their show, but then her dad shows up with a gun……. In Chapter 1, Wahoo is very courageous when he accepts the TV job opportunity, because his dad cannot work as he has double vision, also headaches for which he needs a lot of Aspirin. In Chapter 7, Derek is very courageous when he gets on the alligator's back, knowing the consequences……. (he could get chomped, killed, etc.) He then goes to the Everglades and, being like he is, gets lost. Lastly, in Chapter 25, Link (the airboat driver in the Everglades) is very courageous when he immobilizes Tuna’s dad to prevent him from shooting. Lev is tithe, and individual that has been born with the purpose of being unwound. Connor one day discovers an unwind order in the house and decides to run away. With the help of an honest truck driver, Connor manages to slip away. However, Connor keeps his cell phone and the tracker inside gets him caught. The police attempt to arrest Connor but he resists arrest, runs through the traffic on the road, and grabs a tithed to use as a human shield. This event in turn causes a bus full of state home wards to spin out of control and overturn. Risa is one of the individual on that buss. Risa, Connor, and Lev all run into the woods. The next morning, while the three are gathering supplies such as food and clothes, they come across a storked baby on the door step. Due to past experiences, Connor decides to put all three of them in risk and decides to pick up the baby while a police car slowly passes nearby. Risa, Connor, Lev and the baby all get onto the school bus in hopes of not being suspected by the police car. Once they arrive at the school, they find the nearest bathroom and hide in it with the baby. Lev sees this as an opportunity to escape. As a tithe, he believes that it is an honor to live with the purpose of being unwound, so he finds his way to the school office and turns himself and Connor and Risa in.
