The people are different, customs are strange, and the government isn’t what many others have, but that’s all okay. America is so different from all the other countries of the world. The characteristics that make a person an American deals directly with our differences from the world. First of all, the fact that every citizen in the United States has the freedom of choice. Individuals has the freedom to choose where they go to school, what they wear, who they vote for, where they live, what political party they support, etc. People in America have the freedom to choose what they do with their life. Following that, men and women are equal in America. Not only are they equal in the social class, but they’re also equal in the workforce as well as in voting. It wasn’t always this way; for hundreds of years, men were superior to women, and still are in some countries around the world. Now, in America, men and women have the same opportunities. Finally, the people of America are extremely individualistic and like to be different. The variety of people around the country is incredible. Differences range from what people listen to, what they wear, what they believe in, and what ethnicity they are. All these differences are what makes America beautiful. There are various individuals throughout the world who believe that the American Dream cannot be achieved by all people. Those who agree with this view believe that our culture contains too many roadblocks and obstacles. Some of these obstacles include prejudice, poverty, and social inequality. Another view on this matter is that others believe that America is the “Land of Opportunity”. They also believe that if you can believe it, you can achieve it.
