Halle Berry Analysis
Halle Berry is an actress and a film producer. In the movie title “Extant” a TV series, she acted as Molly Woods. In this film, Molly’s career was an ISEA astronaut and a scientist who becomes pregnant after envisioning her former dead lover, but this discovery made him start looking for answer. Dr. John Woods was her husband. Ethan Woods was their son. Molly Woods is assigned for a 13 month solo mission aboard the Seraphin space station, (CBS, n.d.). The US magazine lists Halle Berry as one of the celebrities who are battling long-term mental disorders. She is known for attempt to commit suicide in 2007. Halle admits that she went through a painful divorce with husband David Justice and they had to end their marriage. She continues to admit that her attempt to commit suicide was a result of not able to cope with depression she was going through. Her self esteem was lowest and she wanted to end the pain through suicide, which did not mature.
The clinical symptoms of major depressive disorder include a persistent sense of hopelessness, despair, difficulties of work or sleep, difficulties to enjoy with friends as well as difficulties in attending friend’s activities. Halle Berry felt low at some point in her life due to relationship complications. Other major symptoms associated with major depression include, fatigue, feeling worthless most of the time, loss of energy, impaired decision-making, lack of sleep diminished interest to pleasure and recurring thoughts of death and suicide.

Halle is diagnosed with pattern of thoughts, behaviors and feelings that make her who she is in her everyday life. Halle’s personality disorder feelings are depended on her situation. She was born of an alcohol addict and abusing father. Halle began receiving therapy from abusing parents at the age of 19. Her marriage broke; divorce and single parenting became part of her life. People suffering from personality disorders can be described as shy, lively but selfish. For Halle, the selfishness was seen from her attempt to commit suicide. Since personality disorder does not change much, people with these conditions adopt with time through life experience, but unfortunately their behaviors tend to remain unchanged, difficult to change and with limited range of predictable emotions. Personality disorder makes things difficult for self and for other people. Also, people suffering from personal disorders tend to have behaviors, beliefs and attitudes that are different from those of other people. Their behaviors are unusual and unexpected.
