Don’t Text and Drive: Let’s Save Some Lives In today’s society, texting and driving have become an issue. Many teens and adults, have formed a habit of using their cell phones while driving. Texting while driving can be very distracting, which can cause many accidents to happen. In trying to prevent this, new laws have been passed, making the use of cell phones while operating a car, illegal. However, too many people do not respect this law.
Cell phones can cause hearing loss. There are many solutions on how to solve texting and driving. Cell phones play a dangerous role in today’s world because they are a major distraction to people who are driving, they cause health problems, however there are solutions to these problems. Cell phones are a major distraction to people who are driving. People are often seen looking down, or talking on the phone and not paying attention to the road when they are driving.
However, an addiction to cell phones can be very unhealthy. This can cause a tremendous amount of problems, especially for teens. The dependence teens have on cell phones can have many negative effects. Many teens miss out on more important things in their lives, due to this addiction. Teens can have a loss of focus, which may cause negative consequences such as car accidents, low grades, and struggling relationships.
Cell Phone Usage While Driving should be Illegal in all States Most drivers experience the urge of picking up the phone to text or to talk while driving on the road. But does the thought of other driver’s lives could be at risk? Driving while talking or texting on the phone is life threatening. States have to put a stop to cell phone usage in order for people to see the possible occurrences of unsafe driving. Some states have already put a stop to cell phones, but not every state.
Banning the use of cell phones while driving would make the road a much safer place. Many people have died or injured their selves and others in car accidents due to using their cell phones while driving. Using your cell phone while driving is getting out of hand. That is now a major problem. Car accidents have increased tremendously from the use of cell phones while driving.
The invention of the cell phone has changed the lifestyle and the way people communicate. Despite their effective way of communication, the use of cell phones while driving results in negative effects to driving performance. Driving while talking is a problem because it is the cause of many accidents. The solution is to make cell phone use while driving illegal, and creating phone applications that will make it more difficult to text while in a vehicle. Furthermore, operating a cell phone on the wheel is on the verge of being banned by law in every state, and some have accomplished this as a solution to the problem.
Most drivers want to be able to feel safe when driving. Nobody wants to be in a car accident or cause one. The use of cell phones while driving is too dangerous and must be stopped. Every state in the United States has one of three laws in effects against using a cell phone while driving. A total of 32 states and Washington D.C. follow a law that prohibits novice drivers from cell phone use while driving (Texting and Driving Statistics).
But ultimately there is too much evidence to show that cell phone cause car accidents. Regardless of these examples, based on the research I have done there are several reasons not to have a cell phone in a car: to avoid distractions while driving, whether talking on a cell phone, texting messages, or using hands- free devices. If a person is expecting an emergency call, then he/she should park the car and deal with the problem. If a person receives a text message, he should not answer it until he stops. The research shows that talk on a cell phone, texting and hands free advice are distracting and dangerous.
Cell phones have become a huge part of modern life.. Cell phones play a large role in our society from keeping track of the kids to calling for help in emergencies. As the popularity of cell phones increase, concerns over hazards and car accidents they cause has increased also. A law should be passed stating that all cell phone use be illegal while driving. Talking on a cell phone while trying to drive a car puts the driver, other drivers, and pedestrians in danger.
Some states have now made it illegal to use the phone at all while driving unless on a hands free device, while others have just made it illegal to text while driving. In 2009 24,000 people were injured because of cell phone distracted driving (1). The biggest risk of all that is associated with the use of cell phones while driving is death of yourself or someone else. No message is that important that you should risk your life or your education to receive it. Some of these behaviors need to be changed by a personal choice to improve their lives while other changes are being forced upon us to keep the road ways safe for everyone.
