Phase One: Wash The first phase is essentially the foundation of a great car wash. The first step is usually to remove any debris, dirt, or bugs from the car to begin the detailing process. When washing your vehicle its important to get all areas wet and ready for the next step. Therefore, you wash your vehicle using the two-bucket method to avoid scratching your paint. One bucket will contain pure water for cleanse, and the other bucket will have water mixed with wash solution from any local auto store; I personally use armor all car wash. This phase should take a solid five to ten minutes based off how dirty is your vehicle. Phase Two: Dry The second phase is drying your vehicle. If you decide in the fifth phase that your paint needs correction then this is were it would be corrected. In this phase you will need an orbital buffer with a variety of compound and pads. Each type of paint correction will require certain compounds and pads, so choose accordingly. Therefore, this duration of this step will vary based off correction. Phase Seven: Protect The seventh phase is your exterior protection to all the hard work you have done to come this far. In this phase you have two options, to either go straight to waxing or use a polymer paint sealant. Paint sealant is best for a daily vehicle because it doesn’t take long to apply and does just as a great job. However, for a weekend car for instance, you may apply wax and allow the sealant to cure for 12 hours before adding a layer. In most cases, paint sealant is best because it last much longer for daily drivers. Phase Eight: Inside The eighth phase is to move on to clean the interior of the vehicle. Most people in this phase would clean the interior while the wax from phase seven dries. This phase would require a interior cleaning solution, vacuum, and some carpet shampoo. First vacuum the vehicle all around and then apply the carpet cleaner for a new look. Then use the solution to clean seats, roof, doors, and more. This step usually takes ten to fifteen
