Cohabitation: Helpful or Sinful

I believe cohabitation is definitely a prelude to marriage, not necessarily an alternative. In the short story, Break It Down, the author exposes both sides of the spectrum, one being the euphoric feeling you receive and also, describing the melancholy side of it coming to a closure. The author describes waking up next to his love one as the most beautiful feelings on this planet, comparing her to an astonishing architecture, of which he dreams of night after night. Explaining in detail regarding the love they shared for each other, using her outstanding skin and beautiful face, which waking up next to her is a constant surprise that never stops. Over time, he talks about losing and regaining her love and begins to overthink small details. Allowing us to heed more information about the significant other prior to committing to marriage. i personally could not imagine marrying someone prior to living with them. It allows a prime opportunity to adapt and better understand one another's lifestyle. Hopefully, it allows a lower divorce rate and a jocular marriage. I would understand the thought process behind replacing marriage with cohabitation for someone possibly moving from city to city such as a nomad. But, it only seems like a valid idea when used as a preliminary for the commitment of marriage. It could also be beneficial for the group of people who might be currently married but separated. So i believe there is a population that could positively benefit from cohabitation. I assume the younger generation, ages 18 through 40, would be highly more acceptable. while the older age group, 55+, would be less understanding of this
