Courage and bravery are two main characteristics seen in characters throughout the entire novel. The Kite Runner; written and published by Khaled Hosseini, has hidden characteristics of courage and bravery within different characters. This meaning that the characters stood up for themselves, others and for what they believe is right from wrong. The three main characters that showed an ample amount of these characteristics were; Amir, Sohrab, and Hassan. These characters were the ones whom throughout the novel were evoking the reader's thoughts by making them think about what defined courage and bravery to them. This could be the question that evokes the thought of who was the bravest throughout the novel. That question is constantly there waiting to be answered. Some of the bravery is hidden within a few characters, but is able to be understood towards the end of the novel. Throughout the novel, we see that bravery and courage is grown to a significant amount in each character's personalities. We repeatedly see this in Amir, Sohrab, and Hassan from many different angles during the novel. They all show these traits in one way or another.

The bravery from Amir comes towards the end of the novel. When he goes back to Afghanistan, during the Taliban, to talk to Rahim Khan and he also goes to bring Sohrab to The United States of America for safety. At the beginning of the book, Amir feels guilty for not helping Hassan in the time he needed help the most. It is after then, that him and Baba decide to move to America for safety. When Amir then comes back to Afghanistan to talk to Rahim Khan, he does not want to because of guilt he feels from his past. He's comes back because he knows that it is the
