Prizes and university degrees did not take long to appear, and in the same year he joined Daimler, 1923, he was named Sir Ferdinand Porsche by the Italian government and recieved an Honoris Causa from the Stuttgart Technical Institute. Porsche worked in the design of Mercedes-Benz cars until 1928, when he left because of disagreements the other other chief engineer of the factory, Hans Nibel. But his last development in the factory was probably one of the most important: The curious, exotic and fast SSKL. After Porsche left Mercedes, he was soon hired to design the now extint Austria cars, and later joined another very important German auto maker, Auto Union. In this factory he designed the famous and complex 16-cylinder race cars.
His achievements were rewarded in later on, when the Stuttgart Institute of Technology awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering. Later he worked for Daimler house in Germany, together with Benz. He founded his own design company in Stuttgart, and in 1934, he designed with his son the rear engine car that was to become the famous Volkswagen Beetle. He is best known for creating the first gasoline electric hybrid vehicle, the Volkswagen Beetle, the Mercedez Benz several other important developments and Porsche automobiles. In addition, Porsche designed the 1923 Benz, which was the first racecar with a mid engine, rear wheel drive layout.
Then he started fixing peoples watches then as he grew older he started making other things like a quadricycle and a gas engine in the late 1890’s. His inventions changed the way that people would travel the ways that wars would be fought and captivated a nation. In my essay I’m going to focus on Ford Motor Company’s Ford Mustangs. Ford Motor Company was started on June 16, 1903 by Henry Ford and some other investors. When Ford Motors first started it was only one of fifteen car manufacturers in Detroit and one of eighty-eight in the United States.
In the same year Ford founded the Detroit Automobile Company. Within 3 years Ford had built an improved, more reliable Quadricycle, using a four-cylinder, 36 horsepower-racing engine. In 1901 his car beat what was then the world's fastest automobile in a race before a crowd of eight thousand people in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The publicity he received for this victory allowed Ford to finance a practical laboratory for refining his auto ideas. In 1903 Ford launched his own car company, The Ford Motor Car Company, and by January 1904 he had sold 658 vehicles.
Everyday people, to companies, and government want theses luxury cars. What made Mercedes-Benz such a hot commodity that they can be used in fast motor sports, used as cars for the private sector, to being useful in World Wars? Damiler AG is a parent company of Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz started out as just one person, Karl Benz he was the inventor of the petrol-powered car which he later called the “Benz Patent Motorwagen.” He obtained a patent his first patent for his motorwagen in January 1886. Later that year Gottlieb Daimler and Willhelm Maybach created a stage coach with a petrol engine.
The Life of Henry Ford Henry Ford once said, “I will build a motorcar for the masses…constructed of the best materials, by the best me to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise…so low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God’s great open spaces.” (Willamette 1) This is one of his most memorable yet earliest public quotes in history, that can easily sum up his whole life. Ford was much more than a person who made cars. Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863 on a farm near Greenfield Michigan where he lived a normal childhood. At thirteen years old Ford became obsessed with the “horseless carriage”, after he witnessed a steam engine rolling down the street on its own (Lacey 8). Ford, was a curious child, one day he ran up to the engineer and asked him many questions.
History: In 1909 Audi was founded by August Horch, who founded the company after he had been kicked out of Horch, Horch was a car company he founded in 1899. The son of Horch's financier and friend gave the name Audi, which is Latin for "listen". In July 1911, the first Audi developed in Zwickau, Germany. At that time It was graded as Type B and Horch won three times in a row while driving it in the legendary Alpine Rally. He was known to build the most efficient and precise engines at that time.
By doing making this decision it showed that Ford had decided to concentrate his job and work to industrial pursuits. His promotion to Chief Engineer in 1893 gave him enough extra time and money to devote attention to his personal experiments on internal combustion engines. (Yenne 150.) In 1896 his experiments produced a result; he made a quadricycle that had a steering wheel and a two speed engine with no reverse. (Teachers D.) Although this sounds like a very impressive feat Ford was not the first to build a self-propelled vehicle with a gasoline engine.
Cars were still built essentially one at a time. Ford hoped to incorporate ideas from other industries -- standardized parts as Eli Whitney had used with gun manufacturing, or assembly line methods George Eastman tried in photo processing -- to make the process more efficient. This idea struck others in his field as nutty, so before long, Ford quite Detroit Automobile Company and began to build his own racing cars. They were good enough to attract backers and even partners, and in 1903, he set up the Ford Motor Company. He still met resistance to his ideas for mass production of a car the average worker could afford. But he stuck to his goal and finally in 1908, began production of the Model T. Ford gradually adapted the production line until in 1913, his plant incorporated the first moving assembly line.
Introduction of the invention The name of the inventor I choose is Karl Benz. He was born on november 25, 1884 in germany. He was one of the most known guys in the engineering world. The invention that Karl Benz created was a car . He is known for building the first practical motor car and the first automobile company in the marketing world.
