Everyone has a dark or hidden thing in their life. Their choices can either make them seem like a hero or a villain. Bill Cosby was known as a person who was able to break down walls between white and black people in his shows and was a known hero dad. Even though he did a lot of good things, he has done a lot of things that were wrong with his life to make him a villain. From raping and sexual harassing 60 women to forcing them into silence, His Actions have made him more of a hero than a villain.

Even though she was sent to jail Bill admits that he had a brief encoding with her mom, which led to a suspension. So to not cause any more rumors he kept quiet neither agreeing or stinging his crimes making his problem worse. The hero is typically a strong, good-natured person by Hollywood standards, but some authors take the freedom to change this definition. Authors like Flannery O 'Connor in her short story, “A Good Man is Hard to Find,” redefine the hero with the character, Grandma. This character is usually loved by all and well respected, but Grandma is not lovable or liked. People who read the story often have a strong dislike towards her. She is annoying. O 'Connor does not follow the hero’s journey verbatim. She strives to make the reader think about their feelings towards the characters in different ways.

A tragic hero is defined as someone that is of high stature, has a tragic flaw, and has experienced a spiritual or literal death. Chris Farley was an exceptional example of a tragic hero. Although he was not born into nobility, Farley’s comedic talent allowed him to rise to high stature. However, Farley’s flaw of having an addictive personality led him from one obsession to another. Mostly the people who supported R. Kelly information was selected for the news media and the information from the nonsupporters were not selected by the news media. In this case the information was bias to supporting R. Kelly even though he had film a sex tape urinating on a fourteen year old girl. It was ironic that the people would still support R. Kelly after such an incident, but his case was viewed on a racial manner rather than having sex with an underage teenager. The news media was able to view the lawyer sly ways of dealing with the jury to help R. Kelly win his case.
Heroification is a degenerative process that makes people into heroes regardless of any type of character flaw they may possess. It appears that Mr. Loewen?s greatest concern about heroification does not revolve around who gets chosen for the history books but what actually happens to them after they do. He cites two examples of people that had led colored lives but in our textbooks show them as people we should strive to become like. These two people are Helen Keller and President Woodrow Wilson. (Lies?19) Mr. Loewen feels that heroification has distorted the lives of Keller and Wilson and that we can no longer think straight about them. He does not just think this of these two but many other people throughout history. When it comes to Keller we think of someone who, throughout her entire life has struggled to overcome her disabilities. They compose jokes that anyone can relate to and, thus, reach broad demographics during their performances.
