What Are Some of the Benefits of a Bassinet? There have been many arguments on why to use a bassinet over why not using a crib right off the bat. Here are a few reasons to begin using a bassinet for your baby’s first few months of life. First of all, a bassinet allows a baby to be in the same room as you. Whether it be the bedroom or the living room, the small size and portability of the bassinet means that the baby can be where you are. In addition, that means the middle of the night feedings and changings are easier as the baby is closer to the caregiver. It gives you peace of mind when the baby is in the same room as you.
