Prior to this course I haven’t had any personal experience developing or implementing a Behavior Intervention Plan. Until recently, when I took my new job, I had never heard of Behavior Intervention Plan. Where I work we have a Behavioral Analyst who is paid to come into the classroom and observe a children of concern. She is currently helping me determine the function of the behaviors of a couple my students. I would like to be in there more and observe, but being the building coordinator I get called elsewhere frequently. I want to learn more about how to do Behavior Intervention Plans effectively. Until I began learning about Behavior Interventions I would go into the classrooms and aid the teachers with the students causing the most issues. I feel like more learning could be happening if these behaviors were different. I want to be able to help my students learn how to better attain teacher or peer attention in a positive way. After completing the Classroom Management Modules I learned the importance of having a plan in place up front. I also know from experience, how important it is to relay the classroom management plan to all staff involved with the class. Last year I was the computer lab teacher. I had a cart with laptops and I would push into the classroom for their computer class. I found it frustrating to have to figure out all the different class’ classroom management plans. It was helpful that most grades would do the same thing, but even having to remember from grade to grade what to do was hard. I wish the teachers would have taken the time to tell me what their rules and procedures are preferred for their room. I also learned there are different parts to a classroom management
