Recommended: Relevance of art
Introduction:
The arts are a way to express yourself, from painting to sculpting and performing. Art from the Renaissance and Reformation period from 1300-1650, the Age of Imperialism from 1800-1920 and the Contemporary World from 1945-Present will be compared. While some of the Renaissance art was about new ideas, the Age of Imperialism art was about social status and Contemporary World art is about broader imagery that is greater than only a person. The differences in subject matter, techniques and artists will be explored below.
Then begin the body of the paper and be sure to include Parenthetical Citations throughout the body of the paper. This assignment requires documenting your sources – this means both Parenthetical Citations and Bibliography according to the MLA format. Document your sources and use the MLA Style Sheet Guidelines handout (Orientation>Research Paper p. 10 + 11). Include Parenthetical Citations and Bibliography
What is of most concern in that you have not documented your sources. Documenting sources is extremely important with historical research because everything must verifiable. You need to have Parenthetical Citations in the body of the paper (perhaps 8 or 10) and a Bibliography at the end in MLA format. You will see information on how to do that also with the "What is Required - Research Papers" document.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, Art is ever evolving, changing and is a way to express yourself. Things like the subject matter, techniques and artists have dramatically changed starting with the Renaissance and Reformation period, then to the Age of Imperialism and continuing to the Contemporary World. From the “Sistine Chapel” and “Mona Lisa” to “Starry Night” and “Water Lilies”, then to “Coca Cola” and “The Gates” art has been able to progress so much. This allows artists to create what they like, how they see it and to what style they will use to make it. It's amazing to see such incredible progression and it should be interesting to see what comes next.
Leonardo Da Vinci was one of the most famous artists during the time of the Renaissance, The Mona Lisa for example, was a painting created between 1503 and 1506, it is the most famous painting ever painted. It is a portrait of the young wife of a Florentine silk merchant. It shows a young woman with her famous smile sitting on a balcony high above a landscape.
I guess I was very confused about formatting in general. In my refutation paper, I listed several sources, but none of them were cited within the text. The formatting was also not up to MLA standards. The grade I received on the MLA quiz also was not good. I worked on this my using the MLA website for help when I needed help. The book also helped quite a bit as well. The improvement is evident in the Problem/Solution paper. The margins are up to standards and everything is formatted correctly. I’m glad I have worked and improved with MLA. I will be using MLA a lot throughout the rest of my college career and it is very important that I know how to use
The The Renaissance lasted from 1350 to 1550 and was known as the rebirth of knowledge in urban society. After the Middle ages occurred there was no education, no common language, and no true form of unity within the people of Europe, so the Renaissance was the reintroduction of education, language, urban society and a sense of togetherness within the countries of Europe. During the Renaissance it was important to have more than one important or major tripe or specialty the people who possessed this quality where classic Renaissance man. Many of these Renaissance men writers, artists, and inventors; Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Niccolo Machiavelli, Desiderius Erasmus, Johann Gutenberg and more. Leonardo Da Vinci had an endless curiosity for invention he enjoyed sketching nature dissected corpses and painted he studied things such as botany anatomy optics and music making him a perfect example of a Renaissance man. Michelangelo was also quite similar to DaVinci he enjoyed sculpting he was an engineer a painter and architect architect and a poet he focused on religion and actually had painted the Sistine Chapel in room. another creative inventor was Jonathan Gutenberg who invented

Crooked Beak of Heaven Mask is a big bird-figure mask from late nineteenth century made by Kwakwaka’wakw tribe. Black is a broad color over the entire mask. Red and white are used partially around its eyes, mouth, nose, and beak. Its beak and mouth are made to be opened, and this leads us to the important fact in both formal analysis and historical or cultural understanding: Transformation theme. Keeping that in mind, I would like to state formal analysis that I concluded from the artwork itself without connecting to cultural background. Then I would go further analysis relating artistic features to social, historical, and cultural background and figure out what this art meant to those people.
Evidently, Leonardo Da Vinci is considered a “Renaissance Man” because of his talent in almost every area. A “Renaissance Man” is someone who is able to do a little bit of everything. That is exactly what his life was; a dedicati...

Bibliography:(sorry, I did this paper a while ago and I didn't have to do a bibliography so not really sure)
“Philosophers, writers, and artists expressed disillusionment with the rational-humanist tradition of the Enlightenment. They no longer shared the Enlightenment's confidence in either reason's capabilities or human goodness.” (Perry, pg. 457) It is interesting to follow art through history and see how the general mood of society changed with various aspects of history, and how events have a strong connection to the art of the corresponding time.
The shift between the Middle Ages and Renaissance was documented in art for future generations. It is because of the changes in art during this time that art historians today understand the historical placement and the socio-economic, political, and religious changes of the time. Art is a visual interpretation of one’s beliefs and way of life; it is through the art from these periods that we today understand exactly what was taking place and why it was happening. These shifts did not happen overnight, but instead changed gradually though years and years of art, and it is through them that we have record of some of the most important changes of historic times.
The history of Art has continuously changed over time, and will continue to do so as long as humanity continues to evolve and time continues to go on. The author of Art History, Marilyn Stokstad, eases the reader into this mindset very early on. She explains that slight changes in the economy, climate, what is expected socially or cultural differences can shift the way Art is viewed and created forever. Early African Art and Gothic Art, both of which Stokstad clearly and concisely summarizes within two enthralling chapters, are both two unique genres, so different from one another that it seems nearly impossible to relate the two at a first glance. The way they structured architecture and artwork are vastly different, and are from incredibly different times yet somehow it is still incredibly to link the two together - whether it be through similar aspects of art or their subtle differences, these two styles are connected in more ways than one.
Contemporary art is produced at the present period in time, which it mainly refers to the meaning of the spirit, and have a modern art Modern language. When people are faced with a work of art, there is a complex judgment or intuition feeling which to consider about it has artistic value or not. Exposure of today's artists and cultural environment and in the face of today's reality, their work will inevitably reflect the characteristics of today. “A work of art is a tautology in that it is a presentation of the artist’s intention, that is, he is saying that a particular work of art is art, which means, is a definition of art” (Diarmuid Costello, Jonathan Vickery, pg.22, 2007). Artistic inheritance is a historical necessity of any art is constantly successor of the previous generation of art. Development of contemporary art can be said to follow the human development and growth. Of course, no matter what kind of art form, and they reflect the performance of all modern social changes which to bring the social and psychological characteristics to show the artist's exploration of artistic expression.
There were three artists in particular that took over the Renaissance period. Their names are Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. The artist I choose to do is Leonardo da Vinci. He was born on April 15, 1492 in Italy. He was raised by his father and step-mothers.
In conclusion, the art of the 19th century was composed of a sequence of competing artistic movements that sought to establish its superiority, ideologies and style within the artistic community of Europe. These movements, being Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, ultimately spread far beyond the confines of Europe and made modern art an international entity which can still be felt in today’s artistic world.
Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most well-known geniuses in human history. This man masters knowledge of all kind: painting, architecture, music, geology, philosophy, biology, math, physics, chemistry, etc. His probably most famous painting, Mona Lisa, fascinated millions of people around the world and the amazing and mysterious details in the painting attracted a number of scientists and scholars to devote their whole career in studying them. Born and lived in Italian Renaissance age, which is a period of time when arts flourished and knowledge was valued, Leonardo was surrounded by many great contemporary artists and a perfect creative environment. These favorable factors supported him to fully exercise his talents.
