From the occasional doodle on a napkin to the paintings I plan out thumbnail by thumbnail, art has been an important constant in my life. My first medium of choice was watercolour, but I ended up developing an interest in video games as a highly diverse and complex art form. This is what drove me to pursue digital painting; what started out as a relaxing pastime soon turned into the enthusiastic pursuit of a game artist career.

My interest in art is at its core deeply whimsical. Fairytales and video games have been a major influence in my work. My paintings draw upon what I find most beautiful in both fantasy and life. I paint subjects such as princesses with flowers in their hair and add to all of that an eerie element, particularly claw-like nails or glassy, hollow eyes; my illustrations are often a bit more grim. Mythology has offered me countless ways to explore this kind of slightly uncanny beauty and I have taken a liking to developing iterations of various humanoid creatures in modern settings and clothes. I have placed great importance on my studies, maintaining a high average while researching art fundamentals and techniques at home. Although my high-school courses have only taught the very basics elements of art, the weekly six hours of English have proved to be a welcome addition to my usual online conversations and have helped me become a highly confident speaker. However, since I have had to keep my schoolwork separate from my artistic pursuits, I am very eager to finally study art in a dedicated academic environment. Throughout my years at college I hope to delve deeper into creating game assets, familiarizing myself further with 3D modeling as well as polishing my 2D illustrations until I am capable of painting unique industry-standard
