Why Animals Should Not be Held in Captivity

Imagine you are at a zoo, and as you walk by, you see animals acting strangely. Animals are biting themselves, vomiting, or banging their heads against the cage bars or glass walls. You look at them, trapped in lonely enclosures and feel sorry for them, trapped inside cages or glass, with nowhere to go.
Now imagine, that you visit the wildlife, and you see animals roaming freely in the wild, you look at them, and they are not acting strangely, they are acting how they should be. The animals have a lot of space and are not trapped, and they are not alone. Other animals are with them, socializing. This is how it should be, with animals living free and in the wild, and not trapped. I think that animals should not be kept in captivity because animals are forced to live in poor conditions, it causes a disease called zoochosis, and in many cases around the world, captive animals are not treated properly.

One reason that animals should not be held in captivity is because they are forced to live in disgraceful conditions. For instance, in a zoo, people try to do the best they can to re-create an animal's real life habitat, but no matter how hard they try, it just won’ t be the same as it is when they are in the wild. For example, when they are released back into the wild, they scarcely survive. They do not survive because their living conditions in the zoo were so horrible that they are not in good health when they are released in the wild, so they would sometimes end up dying. This means that the zoo workers might not make sure that the animal is healthy and may just let them die. Although, some endangered species such as tigers also sometimes die because of low health, or other reasons!
