I believe that there are three distinctive sides to this topic of evolution in regards to science and religion. There are people who believe only in science with regards to evolution (Dawkins), some believe solely in God (many Christians), and some believe in a middle ground between the two (Gould). There is no way to prove evolution (since we have not seen it occur in the time of humans), just as there is no way to prove God exists. Therefore there is a flaw in both sides of this problem. The one issue individuals will find is that if someone is on one side of this debate they are not likely to change their mind about it. The idea of evolution was revealed to the world around 1859 when Darwin published his book “The Origin of Species”. With all the evidence he had collected and the writings of other scientists he was able to come to this idea of evolution. There are people today who believe evolution is the sole explanation for everything and therefore there is no need for a God, Dawkins. The thought process behind this idea is that since evolution can occur there concept of God creating humans and other animals in their current form is impossible. Although not every Christian believes the Bible word for word, most believe in the basic concept of this idea. The world was created in six day and God rested on the seventh. Within these six days God created the first humans, animals, the seas, the sky, and the ground. Some Christians believe that since there is a God we have no need to put faith in the ideals of science. They may say that science occurs because God wills it to occur. He uses the minds of people to enhance the lives of people. They would believe in modern science such as medications or gravity, but on evolution. They would not believe in an idea that eliminated the aspect of
