“In every battle there comes a time when both sides consider themselves beaten, then he who continues the attack wins” (Ulysses S. Grant). You can win battles but lose the war and this is what we have, an Electoral College. Electoral College is by definition according (Electoral College Definition) is the institution that officially elects the President and Vice President of the United States every four years. The President and Vice President are not elected directly by the voters. Instead, they are elected by “electors” who are chosen by popular vote on a state-by-state basis. One happens to be it been here since we created the constitution and simply because it works. Another reason is that it “maintains a federal system of government and representation” (Creasman, Carl.). It stabilizes the political system encouraging a two party system. The system is not meant to be perfect but to work in a rational ways such as if a candidate is getting most votes they should receive most colleges win but in very close instances in history show that you can win majority rule and not achieve all the colleges. Majority is not a system it is a direct way to get a vote casted and if a focus of minorities is to happen. Laws can be set to prevent them from campaigning in such ways. These would be similar to ones in the work force. It’s time to let facts out shine a system and let the people of the United States of America have their voices back. Majority is a direct vote for the people not some points system awarded to the states depending on population and representation in congress. Let’s end the system that have failed four times and let the future be casted by people’s choice not half the states
