First, when it comes to paying child support, some men are lazy and try to find reasons or excuses to get out of paying what they owe. Child support is a payment that a noncustodial parent makes as a contribution to the costs of raising a child. Failure to receive such payment has a great impact on the well-being of the child. The U.S. Department of Human Services has reported that since 1975, the total child support arrears have accumulated to more than $114.5 billion. This result is because the nonresident fathers are not paying their child support payments. Therefore, due to the growing rate of unpaid child support, I feel that men who do not pay child support should be fixed in a manner in which they are no longer able to have kids (vasectomy). Second, the government has put laws in place in an effort to help mothers collect child support payments for their babies. However, there are still a great number of single-parent mothers who need the help with the cost and expense it takes in raising a child. When the extra help it not given, children go without the necessities of life. Consequently, many of our children suffer from mal-nutrient, not having proper shoes and clothing, even living in poverty type conditions because they are not getting the extra help.
