Every day, many teens participate in a potentially deadly activity; they get behind the wheel of a car. According to research, driving is one of the most dangerous things a teen can do. A National Highway Traffic Safety Administration federal study showed that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for young people aged 15 to 20. New Jersey is the state with least fatal car accidents. There are two parts to this argument, but the US and everyone should follow New Jersey’s policy for a number of different reason. One of the reasons and the most important being, safety, although it’s wrong to assume every teenager is the same. To start off with one side of the argument, is showcased in source A, “Is 16 Too Young to Drive?” it explains more about safety, and the mindset of young adults, teenagers. Basically, how we’re not mature enough to handle being behind the wheel. Many of us teens can agree, completely. Safety, not just of young people, but everyone is most important. Sure, teenagers aren’t the same and some may handle driving differently, but who are we to take that chance and risk the lives of many every year that we could be preventing. Many still think the remaining states should follow New Jersey’s path in licensing older teenagers. It will bring more good than harm and ensure safety amongst streets. The older someone is the more likely they'd be able to control themselves, and focus on their surroundings while driving. In Source E a picture is shown of two young teens looking at their phones while driving and no at the road. That alone is enough evidence to support my opinion and New Jersey’s ruling.
