Cellphone is a device which enables a user to communicate almost anywhere around the globe. It was originally invented and developed by Dr. Martin Copper in 1973. Today, cellphone is one of the most popular gadgets in the world and over million and millions are being used everyday. Cellphones are very handy and useful in many ways. People often use them for communication, storing data, usage of the Internet, playing games, etc., but it is arguable that they are dangerous because of many reasons. This happens because people often misuse them in everyday activities. When using cellphones, people often pay less attention to their environment. Thus, it creates unexpected incidents. Such as accidents, explosions, risk of health, etc. One fact why cellphones are dangerous is because they can cause accidents. For instance, majority of people are aware of the risk of accidents when using their cellphone while driving, but they are still using them anyway. Using cellphones while driving can impaired the driver’s attention to their environment, thus, he or she would more likely create an accident. Furthermore, their mind is more focus on their conversation, but not on their driving. In 2011 cellphone statistics, it was estimated that at least 23% of all car accidents each year involve cellphone usage that is at least equivalent to 1.3 million crashes. This was due to texting and talking on the phone while driving ("Statistics”). Did you know that texting while driving is more dangerous than driving under the influence? One study showed that sending messages are far worse than driving under influence. The study showed that the driver reactions time was declined by 35%, thus decreases the steering ability to 91%.
