There are two things which every person in the USA do without thinking twice; the first is spending money, and the second is eating food. It is safe to say that spending money on food has become a big part of our culture, it is hard to even walk down the street without at least three fast food restaurants waving at you. While I don’t think much about the money I spend on food, I decided to reflect on my food purchases and the reasons for choosing them. What do our food choices say about us as a nation, and why do we choose to eat out more often?
By far the biggest upside to dining out, is that no one has to cook or clean up and there are no dishes to wash. Another plus about going out to eat, is that everyone can decide what they want to eat individually and an entire family can be pleased at once. I eat out simply because I do not have the kitchen space to cook in, and I am hardly even at home. Occasionally, I will eat out because it is a special event or to have a special time with my husband. These are all good reasons to dine out, but what do these decisions imply?
