Analysis on the Learning Styles of the BS-Accountancy Students

Introduction
De La Salle Lipa is well known for its course Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. De La Salle Lipa produces high-quality Accountants. Also, De La Salle Lipa has a high rating in the CPA Board Exam which makes this school shine. Students must need to pass the qualifying exams and must have a minimum average of 2.50 in their GPA. In order for the students to pass the said course, they must apply an effective learning style.
Different learning styles are used by students depending on their preference. Learning styles are used by students by how they are likely to learn best. Some students are flexible enough to use more than one style and improve their academic performance. Some students fail to apply their preferred learning style because of some factors. On the other hand, some students also apply their preferred learning style successfully because of some factors too.
There are different ways for a student to learn. Some students can learn by means of charts, graphs, and pictures. These students are visual learners. Some students also are auditory learners. These students learn through listening to discussions and reading. And lastly, some students learn by doing. They are the kinesthetic learners. Students can choose one or more learning style that would suit them best. A combination of these is also possible.
This study aims to analyze the learning styles of BS-Accountancy students in De La Salle Lipa. This paper also aims to know which learning style is the most effective. In order to achieve these goals, the researchers formulated some questions. These questions aim to know the respondent’s learning styles. Learning style has an important place in the lives of the individuals. Knowing one’s learning style can lead to success for the reason that they can integrate their learning style in the process of learning making it easier for them to learn (Biggs, 2001). Also, being an effective problem solver is a fruit of identifying one’s learning style. It is important that a student engage in education which suits their own learning style. A person educated in an area that do not have a relationship to their learning style, may lack confidence and may be less successful. This supports the goal of this paper which intends to prove that kinesthetic style is the best style in BS Accountancy program. Knowing one’s learning style also provide information to the individual as to why they learn differently from others. It helps to control the learning process.
