One of readers favorite quotes from this story is "The fall would plunge Loreli into her own grim reality, or into the other place, the place that spirals sharp and deep, where the dead dream and the worms crawl..." This story is about a woman walking on a tight rope, teetering on the edge of absolute reality or absolute madness...neither are pretty choices. As usual, it is up to the reader's own imagination to decide her fate.

I was very affected by the vision of this young girl diving bravely from the comfort of her safe bedroom into a deep, dark abyss to save her brother from death. Innocense battles evil in this story. It is a metaphor for how I felt when trying to help raise my six siblings from a young age. You can try to comfort them, save them from the horrible things of this world, but in the end when you are young, if there is no one to stand up for you, evil will devour the innocent like a mouth of sharp teeth on candy apples. A side note: The song is a lullabye I made up for my second son when he was a baby. It's been a favorite throughout the years and I was tickled to use it in this story. Another side note is that Tony is the same character in Supergirls 2: Night without Stars & Pillow Talk. It won first place. I loved this pic that the editors put in the pdf magazine and as a wonderful surprise, they sent me the actual chalk sketching. I have it framed and usually hanging in my office. It is quite macabre and frightens my kids, so I take it down when they are feeling epecially disturbed. ;-) As you can see, I have quite the obsession with the BUNNYMAN.
• BUNNYMAN This is the story that started my obsession with the Bunnyman. I was asked to write for an anthology called Twisted Legends, where you take an urban legend and give it your own twist. You'll read in the UN-FICTION part of the book the various accounts of the Bunnyman under the bridge story. This is my fictional imaginings of what could have happened when an all night teen party was busted up by a man in a bunny costume swinging a big knife. Twisted Legends anthology ended up being pretty dang cool and was later given an honorable mention by Ellen

The night was tempestuous and my emotions were subtle, like the flame upon a torch. They blew out at the same time that my sense of tranquility dispersed, as if the winds had simply come and gone. The shrill scream of a young girl ricocheted off the walls and for a few brief seconds, it was the only sound that I could hear. It was then that the waves of turmoil commenced to crash upon me. It seemed as though every last one of my senses were succumbed to disperse from my reach completely. As everything blurred, I could just barely make out the slam of a door from somewhere alongside me and soon, the only thing that was left in its place was an ominous silence.
No matter how much he put her through, she kept fighting for her life. I was confused by this because, in my eyes her life was completely over. I did not see how she could ever live a functioning life after all of the things that she went through. I would have thought that this reality would have been a reason for her to give up and choose fiction. Fiction would have been the easy way out of the pain, loses, and suffering that she faces and would continue to face. Then I thought to myself that is what makes humans amazing. Being able to endure the challenges of life and keep going. Originally, I thought she was a fool to keep going then I realized that she was strong. If I was her I would have chosen my reality

In conclusion, this was an awesome story. The above questions were the catalyst to the real truth that would make the brother to that little girl free at last. His son was determined to break the cycle and remedy this generational condition, although the means by which he used were terrible. But, he would get through to his father. He shed light in the dark place by first beating his father into sobriety, so that he could think clearly. He then helped his father to open up to the discussion concerning the secret he had held on to for so long. Then, he also convinced his father to burn the “Shawl” of his deceased sister. And finally, his father realized what the true story was. A story that would in turn loose the tie that bound them all together with generational sorrows.
...eturn. I relate to this song from a past relationship where I gave little to nothing back in return. This song is an inspiration to me, and I love the story behind the story. Tim had two inspirations in writing this song, from the book itself and a past relationship of his own. Tim Lopez and his band The Plain White T’s have produced many albums, and they’re an astounding band. Every one of all ages and genders can relate to this song.
Her grandson is what keeps her where she is at his sickness pleads for her to stay and take care of him and yes she can go places but the thought of him brings her back every time. It’s like she is the only one he has left and the thought of leaving him behind breaks her, so every time she gets to that hill something tells her to come back. Since I was little my favorite thing to watch on TV would be murder shows that where based on true stories. I would stay up all night watching these shows. Most of my friends found it weird but I felt like this is something that keeps me from being naïve to this world we live in. I was thirteen around the time. So by now I had watch almost a thousand murder shows and I thought I had heard it all. Well I was wrong. This is a story I would never forget. I remember it because it was hard for me to believe that something so horrendous could not only be committed by someone young but to innocent people.
“It was a large, beautiful room, rich and picturesque in the soft, dim light which the maid had turned low. She went and stood at an open window and looked out upon the deep tangle of the garden below. All the mystery and witchery of the night seemed to have gathered there amid the perfumes and the dusky and tortuous outlines of flowers and foliage. She was seeking herself and finding herself in just such sweet half-darkness which met her moods. But the voices were not soothing that came to her from the darkness and the sky above and the stars. Deep in the valley the Wood Sprites and the Fairies flocked together, trembling in their masses; when all were gathered they embraced each other in a fond farewell, then they began to sing such a melancholy song, dancing and swaying in a hypnotic rhythm; the song carried out across the wood, birds in the trees stopped to listen, their heads on one side, their eyes shining with sorrow and the animals crept from their dens and burrows to watch. The air in the wood was thick with sadness, a fox gave a low mewl, it's ears flattening against it's slender head, a magnificent stag threw back it's head and let out a long roar that rose and mingled with the notes of the song.
The song we chose for our presentation is I’m OK by Christina Aguilera. This song is an emotional song, about a girl who grew up with an abusive dad. The song connects perfectly with the poem “daddy” because they both talk about how they looked up to their father, but he was a bad man, and the song and poem, both turn angry, and upset with their father. In the song I’m OK, Christina Aguilera says: “Daddy, don't you understand the damage you have done To you it's just a memory, but for me it still lives on bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same, and I still remember how you kept me so, so afraid. This line shows the relationship she had with her father was abusive, and emotionally scarring. The pain that Plath’s father inflicted on her lasted a lifetime.
... there. A woman next to me was holding her new born baby as she was listening to the play, and that baby, who was initially sleeping woke up with a smile on his/her face. The little boy was hitting those notes perfectly, and involuntary of myself, my eyes closed, and I was sucked up in the song. It was as if I stopped listening to the song, and instead the song itself was touching me. I automatically pictured that small light in the dark that shines proudly from miles away. As the boy was hitting the last note, I slowly opened my eyes, and notice that it was not such a bad day after all. I could see the hidden beauty of autumn days which was only the reflection of my own soul, which in turn, had been transcended in to a heavenly world. The boy was looking at us like an angel who just accomplished his ultimate goal; that is to make people happy, and erase their fears.
This song is an excellent example of the empowerment women and men may need occasionally. When someone is faced with a painful situation, people basically show two kinds of reaction: giving up or struggling. Those who decide to give up will usually keep complaining and blaming others for the situation they face. In contrast, those who decide to struggle, even though initially show almost the same reactions as the first group of people, they will finally choose to look at the good side of the situation they face. The process of being down, looking for the positives, and avoiding negative thoughts or feelings may be difficult but could ultimately result in the greatest gift of all, happiness.
