We Will Never Forget
Elie Wiesel, the man who lived, to tell the tale. This man suffered through one of the greatest tragedies in history, the Holocaust. Yet, he was still able to write his awful memories for us to hear. Wiesel has a distinct writing style that he uses to tell the story of his horrific past using pathos, ethos, irony, and tone. He uses short sentences, allowing us as the readers to add our own details and complete the thought with our own imaginations. Therefore it is not what he says but what he doesn’t say that makes his writing so impacting. It’s very difficult to explain the details of the holocaust to those who didn’t experience it themselves, so instead of using great detail he caused us as the reader to think of how it felt instead of reading about it.
Wiesel’s overall goal for the book was to share with us his own personal experience in the tragic event, the Holocaust. I admire him for remembering the memories that most would try to forget, just to make sure that everyone knows what happened, so we never repeat this tragic epidemic. This novel showed us the holocaust from a survivor’s point of view. No regular textbook can makes us fully understand the torture and agony people went through like, “Night”. After reading this novel, I see why Wiesel needed to share his story, not only for him to voice his opinion and seek some kind of closure, but to better and inform our world of this tragedy.
In this novel Wiesel uses irony to show that there was no normality in his life anymore. For example, when he walked his first steps into Auschwitz he read the sign that said “Warning Danger of death” (Elie Wiesel 137) and thought to himself, “was there a single place here where you were not in danger of death” (137)....

...ow he felt. While watching the documentary you could hear the same voice that we imagined while reading Night. It is a great talent for someone to create such an impacting tone to tell a story.
Elie Wiesel has done the world a great deed by writing this novel. It has affected the minds of millions of readers. The way Elie used his rhetoric devices, made the already horrific event even more real. The images that have been planted in my brain from this book will never leave me. That was the main goal for this book, to never forget. Although it is hard to think about it because most people want to forget the bad things that happen to us, but because of this novel, Elie has reminded world that we must not forget. If never spoke of it, it would surely happen again. So thanks to this book it will never be forgotten and we will never forget about the lives that were taken.
