Red Snow In the poem, “Snow,” by David Berman, is about an older brother and a younger brother. The younger asks about some snow angles in the ground and the older brother gives him a reasonable explanation for why they are there. The symbols in the poem make the poem have its meaning and the tone created is dark but also light. In the poem, the little boy Seth asks about the figures in the snow. The figures turn out to be snow angles, however, the older brother gives him a different explanation. “I told him that a troop of angels/ had been shot and dissolved when they hit the ground”. This part of the poem adds the gruesome tone and symbol. “The ice looked like a photograph of water” (Berman 12). This part gives us the light tone of the poem
