Who is number one in the fast food industry? Chick-Fil-A is a Christian company and has always been closed on Sundays ever since the first restaurant opened. Instead of saying “you’re welcome” employees say “My Pleasure” in response to a “thank you”. Chick-Fil-A likes to actively be involved in the community in many ways like hosting free events. McDonald’s has a goal of being famous for quality food. They are open 7 days a week and operate most of the night. Chick-Fil-A and McDonald’s sometimes seem to be on opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to the cost of the food, the quality and nutritional value of the food, and the service each customer receives when visiting. The food might be okay but if the service was bad then who would want to go back? Chick-Fil-A has many guidelines and procedures in place to ensure each guest has a remarkable experience. If a Team Member takes an order a parent with a young child, that Team Member ensures that that the beverages are brought out to the table as well as the food. On the way to the table, a Team Member will pick up straws, placemats for the young child, and dining utensils so the guest can remain with their family and avoid having to make extra trips before they can enjoy their meal. During peak sales time, employees go out with an I-Pad and take orders in the drive-thru. This speeds up the time each customer has to spend in the drive-thru and allows for personal connections to be made. McDonald’s is not particularly known for great service. Usually employees are not seen going above and beyond for a customer. It might occur but it definitely goes unnoticed. McDonald’s is more known for food rather than remarkable experiences. Overall, In the fast food industry, Chick-Fil-A and McDonald’s do seem to be on the opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to the cost of the food, the quality and nutritional value of the food, and the service each customer receives when visiting. It seems that Chick-Fil-A comes out on top in all three categories because they go above and beyond in everything they do no matter if it is the cost of the food or the great service they are providing to their guests.
