The American Revolution and The Revolutionary War My essay will be about the American Revolution and the Revolutionary war. I will tell you all about these two great events in history. The American Revolution started in1775. The thirteen colonies that became the thirteen original colonies of the United States of America were originally colonies from out of the Britain area so they were originally British colonies. By the time the American Revolution was getting ready to start the colonists in Britain were becoming very angry and upset with the way the British were trying to rule them. Surprisingly the people who would coordinate and control and lead this revolutionary organization were a so called congress of colonies. Before we get too far into talking about The American Revolution I have to tell you some of the important events and facts about The American Revolution. The point of The Revolutionary War was that the 13 original American colonies wanted independence from the terrible Great Britain rule so that they could become their own separate country called The United States. There were many events and reasons the colonists decided that they wanted freedom and independence from Britain. An example of one of these reasons was because the British were in debt and needed money so to raise it back they figured they could tax the colonists from the most valuable and common things they bought like tea and stamps and maybe even sugar! That wasn’t even the end of the tragedy with the taxes because there was even more information about it that upset the colonists like Great Britain did not give the colonists any kind of representation for the British parliament. At one of the events called the Battle of Bunker Hill there was a very colonial leader almost like George Washington but not quite his name was William Prescott. William had commanded his troops to not fire until the enemy was in plain sight and very close. The troops were very cooperative and obedient so as commanded they did but what they didn’t know was that by doing this they were showing that they had a chance at actually conquering their opponent no matter much money they had or how well they thought they had been trained. The very first shot that was fired out of the whole war was let out on the early morning of April 19th, 1775 in the city of Lexington, Massachusetts.
