Flexible, strong, but can be injured under pressure. Who am I? The Achilles Tendon Injury, which is also called the “calcaneal tendon”, known to be the largest and strongest tendon in the body (Fitness & Exercise). The two most common of this injury are Achilles Tendinopathy, and tearing or rupturing of the tendon (Sports Medicine). It is a tough band of fibrous tissue that is connects your calf muscles to your heel bone, which is also called “calcaneus”. If you looked below the skin behind of your ankle you feel the tendon there. However, they are two types of information about the recent of the muscles that's a key. This information is the muscle spindles, found in skeletal muscles, which needs to know the amount of tension in the muscle and its allied tendons (Marieb & Hoehn p.498). According to Marieb & Hoehn, tendon organs are proprioceptors located in the tendons, close to the skeletal muscle insertion.
