In the time of the Iliad by Homer, was there any heroes? During the period of ancient
Greek myth, heroes were symbolic as humans. This can be male nor female that has established themselves with superhuman abilities from the gods. The concept of heroism is a central theme in the Greek mythology. This reflected Achilles as the main character in the book. That Homer had asked the muse to sing the wrath of the Achilles. Being a hero has to be fast in battle and always show bravery within the gods and to its people. By honoring the men who came before them. And to keep his sons from being shamed by their father's memory showed true valor.

Agamemnon ,the king of Mycenae and commander in chief of the Achaean's army. Achilles withdrew from the war any many of their armies had died because of his own wrath. From that period, Achilles led the Greek army in the harbor of Aulis, on the coast of
Boeotia. The army wasn't able to take the city. Before all of this took place, Achilles asked his mother , Thetis to speak with Zeus who is the King of Olympia nor supreme god. She revealed that her son's prophecy will live in a short glorious life or a dull long life. Achilles wanted the honors he deserves by crushing the Greeks. Achilles had told the rest of the Greeks to sail back home and abandon the war in Troy. Though this implied that Achilles has given up his youthful energy and implement it on Agamemnon.
While holding to his rage for Agamemnon, the three Ambassadors (Odysseus, Phoenix, and Ajax) told Achilles to release his anger. "Why grief will it be to you? Through all your fate.
No way to cure the damages once it was done." -Odysseus (Book 9:303-3). Ajax and Phoenix lectured him about, " We long will be your closest and dearest friends." (Book 9:784-5).
