“They're taking him! They're taking him!” (LeBrecht) DJ Hernandez returns to his mother's home in Bristol, Connecticut to find his mother crying hysterically on the couch, watching the TV as her son, DJ's brother Aaron, is arrested by police. He is wearing a plain white T-shirt with red gym shorts, with his hands cuffed firmly behind his back. Two officers follow him closely, in case he suddenly decides to use his four point six-four forty yard dash speed to try and escape, but that is not the case today. Officers placed Hernandez in the back of a police car and drive away.

At Florida, Aaron slowly began to misbehave, beginning with a bar fight in 2007, his Freshman year at Florida, where he hit a bar manager in the ear because of a dispute over an unpaid bar tab. The manager's eardrum was ruptured due to the hit, but Florida personnel managed to convince the man not to press charges. Then there was Aaron's failed drug test. (Though it is disputed that he failed many more than one.) During the combine, NFL teams were very nervous about Aaron to say the least, and some took him off of their draft boards entirely. But the incident that most scared NFL teams, Gators coaches, and Aaron's friends and family, was his possible involvement in a deadly drive by shooting outside a Florida nightclub during his Freshman year with the Gators in 2007. Aaron, Mike and Maurkice Pouncey, Chris Harris, and Reggie Nelson were all partying at a nightclub called the Venue. The Gators had lost to the Auburn Tigers 20-17 that day, and Aaron had gone there with some friends to unwind. Three other friends were also in the club, unaware of what their night would hold. There names were Corey Smith (Nicknamed Squirt), Randall Cason, and Justin Glass. Squirt had a good job, was raising two kids, and he drove a white Crown Vic. He had actually been trying to keep Glass from being exposed to negative influences in his life, although Cason was a …show more content…

He put up five hundred and sixty-three receiving yards, averaging twelve-point-five yards per catch. The next year, Aaron became an even bigger part of the Patriots offense, recording nine hundred and ten receiving yards with seventy-nine receptions, averaging eleven-point-five yards per catch. He was rewarded with a five year contract extension for forty million dollars, with twelve-point-five million guaranteed at signing after the two thousand and eleven season. At the time, his signing bonus was the highest ever for a tight end. At this point the Patriots, along with the entire league, believed they had made a massive steal by drafting Aaron in the fourth round in two thousand and ten. He had been everything teams had expected him to be, excluding, of course, the behavior they believed would follow Aaron to the pros. He had been the opposite of a distraction actually. Thus far into Aaron's career, he had been what some would call a model citizen. When Aaron signed his contract, it appeared Aaron had his life in order, and that he was on his way to fulfilling all of his potential, and enjoying a long and productive career.

In 2011, Aaron and his wife, Shayanna, were engaged. Soon after, Aaron's daughter, named Avielle Janelle, was born. The next day
