One of the best-known movies of the last 50 years, is no other than Bullitt. This is a movie with Steven McQueen as the leading man, and in this movie, he drove a 1968 Ford Mustang. The car was used in several scenes within the film, but then something happened and the car disappeared. No one knew where this special 1968 Mustang had ended up, but such is no longer the case. The car was found not very long ago at a Mexican junkyard. Some might say this is not the car from Bullitt, but according to Kevin Marti, he’s 100 percent sure this is indeed the real deal. The report claims when Sanchez acquired the vehicle, he brought to a Mexicali custom car shop to transform it into a clone of the Mustang in the movie, Gone in 60 Seconds. However, the car shop owner, Ralph Garcia, Jr, and Sánchez, both learned of the origins of this intriguing 1968 Mustang, and as such, plans changed. Marti Auto Works checked out the 1968 Ford Mustang For those who are unaware, Marti Auto Works maintains a database of every Ford vehicle built from 1967 to 2012. The company is quite familiar with the identification number of this particular Ford Mustang, which is how the company came to the conclusion that it was ordered by Warner Bros. for the making of Bullitt. Apparently, Warner Bros. ordered two of these vehicles. One found its way in a junkyard, and the other is privately owned and haven’t been seen for decades. “It’s not the first time one of these old movie cars showed up in a junkyard, but it’s rare,” according to a statement from Marti.
