There are many strategies that are helping all students to meet their education needs, one of the strategy is Critical-Thinking. Critical-Thinking is a good strategy for gifted student. I believe that using the critical thinking will help students gain self-esteem and teaching to their thinking. Teacher should has the idea to use critical thinking and when he or she can use this strategy and improve students thinking. I found study that was talking about the Dixon-Hegelian method. That study used with 4th and 5th grade class of gifted in the spring semester of the 1998-99 school year. (Halpern, 1997; Kurfiss, 1988; Watson & Glaser, 1994). There are many activities that can be used by teachers in the classroom the development of critical thinking, but many teachers still not doing this kind of teaching strategy. This strategy helps students to express their personal views and beliefs. Based on that, the function of the teacher is training students to think and encourage them to express an opinion. (Belenky, Clinchy, Goldberger & Tarule,1986). Nickerson (1987) said, "With or without special training, everyone thinks" (p. 28). the most important thing a teacher should know why students need critical thinking. The teacher who applied the study was Carrie. She has been teaching for 23 years and she was teaching 4th- and 5th-grade gifted students. she has lots of experience in the education of gifted students. she has a K-12 gifted and talented license and a master 's degree in elementary education. Also, she had the "Teacher of the Year" award 2 years ago at the state gifted conference. She has many of the human qualities that make an excellent teacher. She loves her job, she respect her students, so she is special. one of the great idea that I liked when I read about Ms. Carrie posted on the wall some judgment and sayings that encourage her students.
