There are many strategies that are helping all students to meet their education needs, one of the strategy is Critical-Thinking. Critical-Thinking is a good strategy for gifted student. I believe that using the critical thinking will help students gain self-esteem and teaching to their thinking. Teacher should has the idea to use critical thinking and when he or she can use this strategy and improve students thinking. I found study that was talking about the Dixon-Hegelian method. That study used with 4th and 5th grade class of gifted in the spring semester of the 1998-99 school year. There are many activities that can be used by teachers in the classroom the development of critical thinking, but many teachers still not doing this kind of teaching strategy. This strategy helps students to express their personal views and beliefs. Based on that, the function of the teacher is training students to think and encourage them to express an opinion. (Belenky, Clinchy, Goldberger & Tarule,1986). Nickerson (1987) said, "With or without special training, everyone thinks" (p. 28). the most important thing a teacher should know why students need critical thinking. The teacher who applied the study was Carrie. She has been teaching for 23 years and she was teaching 4th- and 5th-grade gifted students. she has lots of experience in the education of gifted students. she has a K-12 gifted and talented license and a master 's degree in elementary education. Also, she had the "Teacher of the Year" award 2 years ago at the state gifted conference. She has many of the human qualities that make an excellent teacher. She loves her job, she respect her students, so she is special. one of the great idea that I liked when I read about Ms. Carrie posted on the wall some judgment and sayings that encourage her students.
The article, “Critical Thinking? You Need Knowledge” by Diane Ravitch, discusses how in the past people have been deprived from the thinking process and abstract thinking skills. Students need to be given more retainable knowledge by their teachers to improve their critical thinking skills. (Ravitch).
When students become critical thinkers they are analyzing and reflecting on what they are learning, therefor advancing their skills in problem solving. Problem solving requires one to be able to tackle the problem abstractly from many points of view. Often problems can have more than one solution so it is required to be able to analyze the information and be able to apply it in various ways. In “Idiot Nation” by Michael Moore, he argues that the lack of attention political leaders give to schools in America is one of the biggest factors hindering proper education .Moore puts the blame on leaders like Dwight D. Eisenhower and William Clark, as well as the people who vote for them. The problem is that “the political leaders...have decided it’s a bigger priority to build another bomber than educate our children.”(Moore 131)Moore believes leaders put more effort into military artillery rather than proper education .The solution to America’s problems is not more bombs or weapons. The real solution are the children, the future of America. Therefore it is vital that we turn them into impeccable problem solvers, to solve America’s problems not with weapons but with knowledge. Critical thinking does just that. In an article called “How Critical is Critical Thinking” by Shawn Ryan D he makes references to the various studies of critical thinking and its relation to problem solving.
When trying to define critical thinking you might run into some challenges along the way. Critical thinking is a widely used yet vague term that is practiced by different people in a variety of locations throughout the world. Critical thinking is a strong virtue for the majority and the worst enemy for others. Needless to say without critical thinking we would be nowhere close to where we are today pertaining to our technological and social endeavors.
The author Vincent Ruggiero defines critical thinking in his book Beyond Feelings: A Guide to Critical Thinking, as a “search for answers, a quest.” It is the idea that one does not accept claims, ideas, and arguments blindly, but questions and researches these things before making a decision on them. From what I learned in class, critical thinking is the concept of accepting that there are other people and cultures in this world that may have different opinions. It is being able to react rationally to these different opinions.

In order to truly be critical thinkers, we must reach stage six: master thinker. Although it is stated that philosophers are unsure that we as humans are capable of becoming master thinkers, due to our deep social conditioning. I believe that while it may not be possible for the vast majority of humanity to become level six critical thinkers, I do believe it is possible for the fittest of our society to become true critical thinkers.

This is a very important still to learn to become an effective thinker and making educated choices. While the semester is over and the deadline has expired, I thought I would write this to express my true intended thoughts.
In order to develop critical thinking, it is important for individuals to be clear as to the purpose of the task or topic at hand, and the main question that is at issue in regard to it. To accomplish this goal, it is essential to: strive to be clear, accurate, precise and relevant, practice thinking beneath the surface, be logical and fair-minded, apply critical thinking skills to all reading, writing, speaking and listening activities, and apply these skills to all aspects of work as well as life in general.
Chris had just been promoted as an Executive Assistant for Pat the CEO, Chief Executive Officer, of Faith Community Hospital. Pat had given Chris her very first assignment on her first day of work as an executive assistant and that was to gather information so that Pat can present the issues to the board of directors.
