Cell phones usage while driving is one of the most tragic form of causing accidents around the world and especially in America where people are influenced by technologies in everyday lives. As technologies progresses, we will certainly be more reliant and dependent on cell phones which will further cause more tragic accidents. Many drivers take using cell phones while driving very lightly because there are no consequences for it. If drivers see that using cell phones while driving is dangerous enough for the government to ban it, then they would stop using cell phones. Of course not everyone will obey the law but by banning cell phones usage while driving, people will think twice about using cell phones while driving. While there are very minimal disadvantages of banning cell phones uses while driving, the advantages outweigh them overall. The major advantage is that banning cell phones usage while driving will undoubtedly decrease accident rates. Without the distraction of a text or a phone call while driving which will limit the driver’s concentration, a driver is able to direct the focus entirely on the road which minimized the chances of tragic accidents. Currently, it is impossible for people to simply stop using cell phones just because it is recommended by the internet. Death tolls caused by cellphones are still increasing at a rapid rate.
