Relationship Scandal Over the past few decades, there has been an abundance of people faced with being a victim of blackmail or a threat that will ruin their reputation. If someone personally hasn’t dealt with this, they at least know someone that has experienced the harassment of a former lover through the sharing and exposure of inappropriate videos and images. There have been some accusations against the revenge pornography laws saying that it contradicts the constitution (first amendment freedom of speech) and the copyright laws. The first amendment states that American citizens have the right to express any opinions without censorship or restraint. The amendment specifies that you can express but not act on your opinions. Revenge porn is acting on what you believe about that person, with the intentions of causing harm to that individual. In a sense, taking nude pictures and recording nude videos is speech and, there is a right for you to post whatever one pleases, but what makes is right for the person on the receiving end of the pictures and videos to post them. Wendy McElroy in “A Feminist Defense of Pornography” argues that degrading is subjective to each women and it’s up to them to define it. As much as that is true, does it mean that there shouldn’t be a standard to the word “degrading”? Take for example, pain is subjective, the same papercut can feel painful to me yet not to another person. There are even people who suffer from congenital analgesia (the inability to feel physical pain), But does this mean that it is right to inflict physical pain on those people? The law is the standard for defining physical pain and so the term “degrading” should also has its standard as it will cause harm to others.

“Stalking” is a term used to describe harassment or contact that is unwanted and repeated. 1 in 6 women and 1 in 19 men have been stalked in their lives (Stalking statistics, 2014). This is a very serious crime that is often overlooked due to embarrassment or underestimating the severity of it. However, stalking can become violent very quickly. Some only threaten their victims and never go any further (stalking,2014), but other cases can become quite severe.

The purpose of revenge is to hurt someone because of how they hurt you or someone else. Someone will find the smallest things to get revenge on because of the hate in their heart, and always wants to hurt to someone. Revenge is played a major role in the play Much Ado About Nothing written by William Shakespeare. I never heard the urge to get revenge on someone, because karma will get him or her eventually.
Revenge is such an enormous part of a being human. It is something that no matter how much you try to avoid part of you will persistently lust for it. When you are hurt in any way your natural instinct will always tell you to make the one who hurt you feel just as bad if not worse as how you felt. It is such a natural and powerful feeling, that when revenge is incorporated into a story it makes it so much stronger. Revenge will make you see so many more sides of characters and make them seem much more complex. Revenge can give fictional characters a more human quality. That is why so many writers use it as their theme.
My personal experience with revenge isn’t much, and it concerns little things. Revenge can simply be when a person draws on your book, and in spite you would draw on their book as well. It might as well occur in a game, for example my friend plays a lot of game online and this game is to simply ‘kill’ other opponents. Once, her character got attacked by another opponent but she was not prepared for the attack and she lost. Because of this, she was angry and wanted to seek revenge. She then got all her other friends to ‘gang’ up and attack the opponent. Since it wasn’t a very fair battle, the opponent lost. This act might seem childish and trivial, but this is the act of revenge.
