People are auctioning off valuables and goods while buying a range of items for a cheaper price. It stays this way on the same black and white website to this very day. EBay has been around since it was “Formed as a sole proprietorship in September 1995," via California. Its platform is meant to allow buyers and sellers with internet access to connect globally. EBay Inc. gains profits from stockholders, as well as a percentage of each good sold through it. In 2013, the assets were much higher than the liabilities which expressed that this was a better year than 2014 was. According to these figures, the hit eBay took in 2014 could possibly be why the stock dropped around $30 less. The price is currently going up but not by much at all. Estimates for the 2000 fiscal year are being raised by a large majority of analyst who believe that earnings per share will increase and the stock price will reach close to 150.

However, costs of goods are increasing and more inventory is left over each year causing the return on sales to decrease. For 1995, it was 1.7% which is less than the average of 2.44% but is a lot higher than the bottom 25% of companies as seen in exhibit 3, which actually have negative sales return of 0.7%. Return on equity is increasing each year and at a higher rate than industry average. In 1995, it was 20.7%, greater than the average of 18.25% and close to the highest companies in exhibit 3, of 22.1% showing that the return in investment in the company is increasing, which is good for the owner.

Without a change in the market and a declining bond price, we decided to invest in equities according to our investment strategy, which brought us into the second phase of our portfolio. Therefore, at the beginning of February we bought shares in Sirius, Microsoft, Neon, Washington Mutual, and Nike. As assumed, the equity market continued to plummet decreasing the value of all our stocks except for our Gold Corporation stock.
