We depend on technology for everything. Some people might be against it, because it supposedly takes away our time from our families. When in reality it brings us closer to friends and love ones. “Can You Hear Me Now?”- Sherry Turkle argues about the benefits and problems of technology and how we use it in our everyday life. Turkle’s point of view is if it wasn’t for technology we wouldn’t be more connected and or isolated. She talks about 5 problems: Virtual self, time consuming, technology & adolescent, virtual life and inattentive. From my point of view technology has helped us a lot and I think it is an advantage. Technology has become part of our lives. They are the ones that remind us to do things, the things we use when we get bored, and the ones we use in order to communicate with others. Spending time on technology is unhealthy. We need to sign out, get offline and experience the beautiful world, because there are so many things you could do without even to use technology. The fact that, there are children’s who don’t pay attention and rather play video games and be stuck on the screen all day without setting a foot outside, it’s disappointing because, happiness comes from outside, playing in the playground, getting scars by jumping on the biggest castle on the playground or even playing sports. Back in 2005, you’ll see me going out at the park everyday playing freeze tag with my friends or any other games till the lights from the streets turned on and then we’ll be coming home sweaty and dirty for rolling in the dirt.
