The writers of “Assisted Suicide is Compatible with Medical Ethos”, Angela K. Martin, Alex Mauron, and Samia A. Hurst, composed a paper together in response to another researcher and his colleges on whether or not continuous deep sedation (CDS) is more acceptable than physician-assisted suicide (PAS). In “Assisted Suicide is Compatible with Medical Ethos” the authors support the original writers’ claim and came up with other reasons why Physician-assisted suicide should be considered as an equally accepted alternative, like CDS, for the disturbed patients. The authors continuously talk about whatever stated in the article are not the only reasons why physician assisted suicide is a possible option for the patients who decide to end their life how they want to. Perhaps the authors did want to make respecting the patient’s decision the only reason why PAS is a better form of practice than CAS—depending on the case. The authors believe it isn’t so, without the patient’s consent or knowledge they are injected with sedatives before they die. Depending on the situation, the family members of the victim may have agreed to the injection to help their relative live a painless moment before they pass. However, with PAS, the patient is in control of their life from the beginning to the very end. PAS allows the patient to ask their doctor to give them drugs to end their pain once in for all. It is very important to know that the physicians can deny them their request of assisted suicide from the physician. Therefore the organizations of non-physicians are there to fulfil the patient’s request. Although the doctor refuses to help the patient go through the process, they are still there to write a summary of what the patient is going
