The “8 Terrible Things You Didn’t Know Binge- Watching Was Doing To You” article, was written by Caitlin Corsetti, an author for the website Gurl.com. In the article, she explains eight different negative side effects that are caused by binge watching. Corsetti starts off by pre-telling her obsession for bingeing on Netflix,for her favorite shows like “Orphan Black” and “Gilmore Girls”. She explained that she didn 't leave her binged the entire show “Orphan Black” in only two days and hardly left her bed. She then leads into her first negative effect, which is being in a state of being immobile; or “sedentary behaviour”.{Article 1} Corsetti quoted, Miguel Martinez-Gonzalez,a M.D., Ph.D, M.P.H, from the Journal of American Heart Association,
“Television viewing is a major sedentary behavior and there is an increasing trend toward all types of sedentary behaviors...As the population ages, sedentary behaviors will become more prevalent, especially watching television, and this poses an additional burden on the increased health problems related to aging.”
-Miguel Martinez-Gonzalez {Article 1}
The essence of Corsetti’s behind this pointing out that binging is a sedentary behavior, is because there is a large amount of health problem that root from people not exercising enough. Given that bingeing is not only becoming more and more popular, our health is only going to deflate with time. I completely agree, that bingeing is not healthy. I myself, binge quite often; whether I want to admit it or not. I binged watched 10 season of the show Supernatural in just 3 weeks and a half. Needless to say, I lost a lot of sleep. I can completely agree that it did affect my health because I rarely ate, move around and I had a ton of migraines. ...

Three People and Binge Drinking Essay

- One Drink or Five This past weekend I went to my fair share of parties. I watched and studied several people at each party. What I noticed was an unusual amount of binge drinkers. Binge drinking is consuming five or more alcoholic drinks in the duration of the night. I used to drink all the time, but as I have developed into a grown up I realized that you really don’t have to drink to be cool. I know that every single one of us has been to one of those parties: the music pounding the windows, the girls and guys having a wonderful time, and you standing there not knowing anyone....   [tags: essays research papers fc]

Do College Students Deserve Alcohol? Essay examples

- As a college student I have to bring up a problem that has recently caught my eye. Drinking in the college environment has done much harm to the well-being of the students. The more I see drunken people around campus the more I become concerned for their safety. As I think about this more I start to question if we as body should be allowed to even possess alcohol, regardless of age. While alcohol incidents that include death are very seldom, many other categories have gone up; the number of binge drinkers-those who intend to drink to get drunk- has gone up, the number of Minor in Consumption tickets has gone up and the number of alcohol-related crimes has increased....   [tags: Binge Drinking]

Essay about Why I Didn 't Know It?

- Then, I also leaned over my step daddy 's bed to give him a hug before leaving and was careful not to put any pressure on him, especially his broken arm. As I kissed him on his cheek, I slipped the bag which contained the cheeseburger and fries—Which I had tucked away in my jacket so I could get past the myriad of doctors and nurses. But only one nurse had looked at me as I slipped past her down the hall, and dear Lord, she was older than dirt, so I didn 't suspect that she had suspected anything—into his good hand....   [tags: Family, Anxiety]

Binge Drinking Among College Students Essay

- Binge Drinking Among College Students Zach Wamp once stated that, “Because these kids get away from their parents, they binge drink until they are sick. Dozens of them are going to the hospital, and some of them dying…” This statement could not be truer. Binge drinking among teens, especially college students, is a serious problem in today’s world. This is an easily fixed problem, however. If teens and college students’ free time was filled with participating in more extracurricular activities, there would be less time for binge drinking, or drinking in general....   [tags: Alcoholism, Drinking culture, Binge drinking]

Essay on The Effects Of Binge Drinking On College

- West Hills College Coalinga has 29 percent of its students aged nineteen 1 and under a lack of places of amusement. With little else to do, these students turn to parties and illegal substances. A combination of this and poor time management causes students to get behind in their studies, perform poorly in sports activities, adds the risk of overdosing, and increasing impulsive behavior. “People 18-25 make up twenty percent of the population that use illegal drugs.”(Carl, p. 159) “In 2009, the National Institute on Drug Abuse did a study and found that 25 percent of high school seniors had been binge drinking in the past two weeks of study.” (Carl, p....   [tags: Drinking culture, Alcoholism, Binge drinking]

Song Analysis: We Didn’t Start the Fire by Billy Joel Essay example

- Every song has a story to tell, and some contain hidden stories or lessons, while others are completely blatant. In Billy Joel’s song, “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” he does not hesitate to be very obvious with what he tries to prove, which is how all of the events in his song contribute to one large fire. I chose to remediate Joel’s song because it spoke to me with historical context. When researching the song, I read a majority of the history behind it and decided to reflect upon it in a visual picture collage, combining a majority of the elements he mentions with pictures--all circled around a fire in the middle....   [tags: Billy Joel, We Didn’t Start the Fire]

I Didn?t Know My Dad Was A Writer Essay

- I Didn’t Know My Dad was a Writer It came as a complete shock to me when I read an essay that looked as if it was taken straight from my father’s mouth. My father and the author could have been neighbors if not for the four states between Ohio and Texas. The essay is about the author, Scott Russell Sanders’, attempt to understand what women feel that they are missing; when in his experiences a man life has little if any privileges. I relate in every way with the author’s ideas. There is nothing I can’t connect with because I’ve heard these stories since I was two and see it all in my head....   [tags: essays research papers]
