The appendix is a small tube that extends from the large intestine. The appendix may have been necessary thousands of years ago, but is no longer required for digestion. The inflammation of the appendix is called appendicitis.
Appendicitis treatment has been practiced and perfected over the last few hundred years. The first appendectomy, the removal of the appendix, was performed in 1735 by English surgeon Claudius Amyand on an 11 year old boy. The first diagnosis of appendicitis was about 150 years later in 1880 by Robert Lawson Tait. The term appendectomy was coined by Reginald Heber Fitz in 1886. Treatment for appendicitis has come a long way since the time of these doctors, but they provided a great base for modern treatment.
There are many symptoms of appendicitis, mostly involving the abdominal area. Most people with appendicitis experience pain in the lower right area of the abdomen that gets progressively worse as time goes on. Low grade fevers, loss of appetite and swelling of the abdomen are also common symptoms of appendicitis. Less common symptoms include painful urination, cramps and vomiting after abdominal pain. Anyone with these symptoms should get immediate medical treatment instead of trying to treat it with home remedies, as these could make the appendicitis worse.
Doctors come up with a few tests to test a patient for appendicitis. The easiest test to perform is the physical test. In this test, a doctor applies pressure to the painful area to see your reactions, like tightening the abdomen muscles in an attempt to guard the appendix. Blood tests are also given to check a patient’s white blood cell count. A high count might indicate an infection. Urine tests may also be run to make sure kidney stones or a ur...

Explain your reasoning for each. The primary diagnosis is ovarian torsion. The patient present with classical signs and symptoms of RLQ abdominal pain the worsen with any movement, nausea, tachycardia, RLQ tenderness, guarding, and rebound on examination as well as right adnexal tenderness and right adnexal mass (I-Human Patients, 2017). Differential diagnosis include; pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), appendicitis, and renal colic. Clinical features that favor the diagnosis of PID are non-migratory pain, bilateral pelvic tenderness and absence of nausea or vomiting. Appendicitis typically presents with poorly localized colicky central abdominal pain associated with anorexia and vomiting. Renal colic typically presents with sudden onset of severe unilateral colicky pain radiating from the loin to the groin, which comes in waves, very similar to torsion (Krishnan, Kaur, Bali, & Rao,
Gonorrhea in women can cause vaginal discharges that are bloody or yellow, painful urination, bleeding between periods, excessive bleeding during menstrual periods, painful intercourse, and lower abdominal pain. Symptoms of rectal infection include discharge, anal itching, and occasional painful bowel movements with fresh blood in the feces. When treated early, there are no long-term consequences of gonorrhea. Doctors usually prescribe a combination of antibiotics, such as ceftriaxone, doxycycline, or azithromycin, which will treat both diseases. Serious complications can occur, however, when left untreated.

Bacteria can be found in healthy urine, so usually a doctor bases it off symptoms and the lab tests. For the people with reappearing UTIs, and for patients in the hospital, the urine may be seriously infected and civilized. The experiment is resolved by placing part of the urine in a test tube with a certain substance that makes the bacteria multiply, after this process is finished, they can be identified. Another test that can be taken is the sensitivity test, the test tests for sensitivity to different medicines and antibiotics to see which medication is best for treating the persons severe infection. If a person has recurrent UTIs, the doctor may order some extra exams to determine if the person’s urinary tract can get back to being
Firstly, Appendicitis is the swelling of the appendix. The appendix is similar to a tube, the size of a finger that forms a sack, which is attached to the large intestine. Appendicitis can occur because of numerous effects such as toxic bacteria building up on the appendix, a genetically ruptured appendix and an appendix that has a clogged opening because of the large intestine. There are many symptoms of Appendicitis such as abdominal pain, minor fever, loss of appetite, extreme nausea or vomits and excessive coughing. By using ultrasound, Appendicitis can be exposed as quickly as exposing flu or a cold. It is a very fast and effective process that can be done easily without the need of having a doctor present in the room. Some scientists may recommend using a CT Scan instead of ultrasound however the use of ultrasound is cheaper, safer and better for Appendicitis. It is cheaper because it is done as a basic study and the operational cost (both technical and professional) is very insignificant compared to a CT Scan. The ultrasound device is just as efficient to use and much cheaper than other modalities, making it cheaper on the New Zealand Government to purchase such an effective device. Also, it is safer for one major reason. Using a CT Scan instead of ultrasound would result in unnecessary radiation that may...
