The ancient civilization Pueblo existed around 100 to 1300 AD. This civilization was generally located on the boundaries of states that we know today, which are the Southwestern part of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and some even lived in Texas. The North American Pueblo people lived in dessert areas, and areas with bordering cliffs and mountains. In 1300 AD they disappeared from much of their homeland at the height of their success towards the end of the 13th century. The Pueblo left their entire region. The modern Pueblo clans and tribes is dated to 1600 AD and onward.

Subsistence patterns and environment 10pt ME

The subsistence pattern of the ancient Pueblo people often relied on farming, gathering, and hunting for food based on what could be provided by the land they inhabited. Pueblo settlements on waterways relied mostly on farming for food in addition to hunting and gathering. Other pueblo settlements however, relied mostly on hunting and gathering and in place of farming these people relied on wild foods. Traditionally, women did most of the agricultural work while men hunted. As hunting diminished in the area men began helping with agriculture as well. Corn was the main and sacred food source to Pueblo life. Other popular agriculture included beans, squash, seeds, and yucca fruit. Big game of deer and bison were popular when available. The more common meat meal was the domesticated turkey.
