Electric Engineering: A Career Of Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineers Engineering is a very important occupation in our society. Many things (phones, computers, buildings, desks, chairs, toys etc.) that we have today had to be designed and innovated, and that's what engineers do, design and innovate. Electrical Engineers design electronic equipment, devices, or objects, like; “computers, robots, cell phones, cards, radars, navigation systems, wiring and lighting in buildings, and much, much more! They do many different things and design a lot of things. Some other (more specific) things they do include, “circuits such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors and diodes,micro-fabrication of tiny electronic circuit components, signals, such as analog or digital signals, electricity …show more content…

It started to get interest in the 170ths and after time more and more electrical things came out which needed designers to design and innovate (change and improve) them so around the 190ths it was big pretty big and was considered a profession. In 1882 the first electric engineer course was established at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) by Professor Charles Cross. (Wildes, Karl L., and Nilo A. Lindgren. A Century of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, 1882-1982. MIT Press, 1986.) According to Paul Penfield, professor emeritus of electrical engineering, “Technicians use existing technology, and they do interesting things with it, and they make inventions, and so on,” Penfield says. “And scientists advance science. But the link between those two is engineers, who not only use existing technology but develop new technology using known science. And that was more or less the vision of the founding of MIT.” In 1885 the first engineer course was established at Sibley College of Mechanical Engineering by Franklin …show more content…

Also electronics need to been being innovated a lot and it has been growing a lot, which means engineers won’t have to worry about getting a new job. Also, engineers get a really good, high paying jobs right after school which is nice because they will pay off school loans faster. Doctors and Professor have to do extra schooling to get a high paying job, but engineers don’t too. One benefit which isn’t true for all engineers, but they can easily be if wish, is opportunities to travel around the world. Engineering is all over the world and engineering companies have different parts in different parts of the world. Getting to travel also depends on what kind of engineer or kind of electrical engineer, but engineers can easily find a job where they can travel to different places if they want to. One huge benefit is the gaining of prestige, respect, admiration, and trust. When people think of an engineer or someone says they’re an engineer people will automatically think higher of that person and trust him more, because when they hear engineer they think of a super smart inverter, which is what they are. People who really know engineers even trust them more because they know that for a living they design complicated stuff and solve
