An incompetent cervix can result from abortions and in later pregnancies it can cause abortions

or make it very difficult to hold the weight of a baby. This is caused by the early and forced

opening of the cervix. The medical equipment used for abortions can accidentally stab or cut into

the organs in your body like the uterus, bowel, or bladder, immediate surgery is needed and

sometimes a hysterectomy.

The tools used in an abortion can easily cause scarring of the uterine wall so that an embryo that

has already been sterilized cannot attach leading to a miscarriage and can sometimes cause a

woman to be completely sterile. Having an ectopic pregnancy, where the embryo attaches and

starts to grow inside one of the fallopian tubes, is much more likely to occur after an abortion

A woman who has had an abortion is 65% more likely to develop long term clinical

depression than a woman who has not had an abortion and a woman with no history of anxiety
