First of all, abortion is the murder of an innocent, unborn child. Pro-choice people will argue that a fetus is dependent on its mother and cannot survive alone; they contest that because a fetus lacks properties of a human being such as reason, consciousness, and self-awareness, they are not human and therefore it is just to “terminate” them (Jones). This wicked and corrupt thought process could not be more wrong. Much of the murder debate revolves around when life actually starts. A mother who chooses to have sex must take responsibility for her child once it is born; the child should not be deprived of his or her basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution (“Abortion ProCon.org”). When people stop being accountable for their actions, pandemonium will set in. A woman may not simply pass off the responsibility; they must face the consequence of their actions. Along with the denial of responsibility, abortion hurts our society by promoting a corrupt thought process that a human life is disposable and irrelevant. Randy Hultgren, a United States representative (R-IL) says this about abortion: “When we tell one another that abortion is okay, we reinforce the idea that human lives are disposable, that we can throw away anything or anyone that inconveniences us” (“Abortion ProCon.org”). Both sides think their argument is flawless and will continue to assert their opinions. The truth is that abortion is murder; the very practice of it is a heinous travesty that demoralizes the very foundation our country and society was built on. Ronald Reagan, the fortieth president of our United States, had this revelation about abortion: “I 've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.” How can our society sit back and deprive a human being of his or her life and justify it by saying that it is for the good of everyone? How is one life more valuable than a young life with a bright future ahead? Abortion is no different from murder; it is an evil practice that should be outlawed in every form and circumstance because of its damage to the child, mother, and society as a whole. Abort
