Schools should pay students for good grades Are you a student that is in need of money and you get good grades? You should go to a school that pays students for good grades. It's the best choice for students to learn more and get more involved. Imagine getting an A and getting payed for it. Some main school examples are, New York City’s Spark, Washington, D.C.’s Capital Gains, and The Paper Project in Chicago. Schools should pay students for good grades because students would study harder, tests scores would increase, and students would have more financial freedom. Go back to hook

For example, the author of the website says, “students not only enrolled in more classes but also were more likely to maintain a C average.” (Quinonez). This quotation means that schools that pay students for good grades, get an average grade of a C or above.. The students maintain the grade. If the students get paid, test scores would increase. The best idea hers is for students to get paid so their school can increase in knowledge. The test scores would increase by studying harder. Also if the students are in more classes, they would still maintain the average grade. Average grade is passing so, the students would pass the class their being paid in. For example, author Quinonez says, “A child with no desire to learn will only learn because of the reward offered. Many of these students aren’t on track to graduate from high school, much less go on to college.”(GreatSchools Staff). This quotations is saying that students who don't like to learn or pay attention in class will want to learn because of the reward that comes after. This could help students who are not on the right track to graduate or to college. This would cause test scores to increase because students will want and work for the money. Students will want to learn to get the reward. That will cause test scores to increase and make a good impact on the students
“Beginning in 2007, his [Roland Fryer Jr.] project paid out $6.3 million to students in 261 urban schools...from low-income families” (Sandel 52). As a result, paying students for good grades has an impact on many people, not only students but teachers as well. Students should be paid for good grades because they will be able to save the money they earn for the future, it will motivate them to do well in school, and it will increase their scores on AP exams. With the money that students earn for their good grades, they can save it for their future. According to student Brett Upperman, “‘Kids need money so we can save it for college.
He says that it is hard to get students to learn because they have more freedom than they had when they were in school. Students do not have their parents with them to motivate them. Students are more focused on having fun than they are with learning. If students do not learn then they will struggle when it’s time to actually get a job. The author says that they will exhibit the same lack of motivation in their careers. If students do not go to college to learn, then it will actually be a waste of time and money, and they will not get anything out of their career.
Many high school students have a job that they go to after school which takes up their time that they could be using for homework and studying. If we were to pay these students for their good grades then they would no longer have the need for a job and could get even better grades and would even be able to take harder classes because of the extra time they would have to study and for homework. With the extra time that students would receive they could progress their education even
Students and education have a direct connection; if students are failing, then the educational system is going to decline. In order for the education system to prosper, the nation has to consider the needs of the students. This country consists of students that have a bright future ahead of them, but the only downfall is trying to get the students to their future. The Cash for Grades Program solves this issue by rewarding students for their grades, so that they will work very hard to be successful and fulfill their bright future. If America is the fastest growing economy in the world, then why is the education rank so low? America’s strengths should reflect the education that is offered, because this is the key factor that is associated with a top notch country. A country with prospering education has bright students that can lead the country to a better place.
All the students rush out the door as the school bell rings, taking out their extravagant and expensive phones. Everyone leaves, and just by the sight of the empty hallway, there are calculators, textbooks and more electronics that are worth a great amount of money. Students are not responsible for their belongings. In fact, they are not responsible at all, losing them, leaving them in the hallways and change rooms unattended, dropping them. They will never entirely understand the value and responsibility that is put forth for them to have that phone. However, they would understand if the phone was bought with their own money. This leads to why students should be paid for having good grades in school. Students should be paid for good grades due to these three reasons: it encourages students to work harder, it will help expand and grow the economy and finally, they will understand the importance of responsibility.
Would you pay your child for getting good grades?, or would you like to get paid for your good grades? Parents have payed their children for their proficiency several times, and people are starting to realize what a magnificent idea this is. People believe that this can make kids try harder and it can help them gain more knowledge. Others think this could be an unsuitable theory because it makes kids only want to learn for the money. In my opinion, paying kids for good grades is an excellent suggestion.
Did you know that schools in some places are actually giving kids money for good grades? If schools wish students to be self-motivated and have a desire for learning because it’s valuable to them, then schools should not pay students for excellent grades. Paying students for good grades can lead to kids having pressure to earn good grades. In addition, the students who are payed will not succeed academically in the long run. Also, they are not self-motivated so when they are not getting paid they will stop trying. From pressuring to get good grades, not succeeding academically in the long run, and not having self-motivation, there are several negative effects of paying students for marvelous grades.
I believe that giving out money to students and teachers that do well in the end of level testing is an inspirational idea. It will help the students stay motivated and they will want to learn in order to achieve the goal. It will also give teachers the motivation to instruct us better and help all the children learn equally. Now leading up to my essay I hope you will understand how well this could help the students and teachers throughout the world.
The video suggests that stress of the students will lead to greed. Because the students want so badly to get into a good college to get a good job and all they have to do is get good grades. They want it so badly they don’t realize that grades should not be the number one priority of a person. The video claims that good grades in high school are important in high school but not in
...boost confidence and esteem in students, which would in turn boost test scores as well.
It takes a special kind of person to become a teacher. One must be patient and kind, yet stern enough to enforce the rules. Teachers take on a lot of responsibility, but are not fully compensated for all that they do. Teachers spend time working outside of the classroom, and during their summer without pay; as a result, some decide to leave their rewarding careers. Teachers play a very important role in the lives of both children and adults, so they should be paid more for their duties.
If students got paid a certain amount of money for the grades they earn each school year, it can motivate them to do well in school. If each student worked hard to get paid, they’ll be less students dropping out, getting held back, and they’ll be more students graduating, and reaching their full potential. If students do get paid for their good grade, it can result with something amazing. So, students should get paid for their good work in school.
The lack of resources and funding available to low-income, urban schools affects student’s achievement and does not give them a fair opportunity for success. It is heart breaking to see students that need to succeed in education the most so they able to get out of the cycle of poverty, not be able to be given the chance of a good quality education. The No Child Left behind Act has had the opposite effect of what was attended, and indeed left children in low-income/low achieving schools behind. School funding is an extremely important factor in which can make or break student achievement. School funding means more high-quality teachers, better materials, updated textbooks, and more resources in which can help a student thrive.
I’ve been assuming that the parents would pay the students for their good grades, and I am going to continue to do so when I give this reason. It wouldn’t be fair. I say this because, some parents don’t make much, some don’t even have a job. If you have this student being paid, because his or her parents can afford it, and another student not being paid, there would be issues. Not only could it cause problems with students being ridiculed, the unpaid students could probably be less likely to succeed, if money was a common motivation for all
In conclusion, students should be paid to do well in school because it has many benefits to the student. Those benefits include motivation to get good grades, the money would help the student financially, and the student would learn how to manage their money more effectively. School is a big part of every person’s life, so it should be more rewarding to the
