Should Schools Start At A Later Time?

Are you falling asleep in class? Well, you’re in great hands. Studies show that starting school later can have many positive advantages. People need more sleep so that less dangerous events will occur in the future. This can also save many lives of others. Schools should start later since it helps with decision making,academic performances, and less teen car crashes.

To begin, starting school later can improve decision making skills. Everettsd.org states, “The American Academy of Sleep Medicine says that lack of sleep impacts performance by reducing concentration, creating attention deficits, distractibility, impairing decision making skills and causing forgetfulness.” This leads to people making better decision skills. When we are very tired, our brains don’t function fully. The effect of this is that students make bad decisions when they don’t know that they did something wrong.
