Knock knock. Who’s there? School. School who? I’ll school you!Speaking of school; did you know that in America most students spend around 7 hours in school and begin class between 7am-8am? Studies have shown that numerous teenagers do not attain the recommended hours of sleep needed for schools to begin before 8:30. I believe that 10 am- 5pm would be an ideal time for classes since students and teachers would be more awake, after school care could be almost nonexistent, and students health and wellbeing would improve.
First, students and teachers would benefit from classes beginning later since, this would allow more time to sleep and be more aware of surroundings. In order to drive to school you need to wake up early enough to not only be on time but, safe on your ride to and from school. Another point to bring up is that some mornings weather can inhibit not only riding but, driving conditions. In addition to this, precious class time can be lost since weather conditions such as fog make arriving at school a hassle. Lastly, students may not be getting enough sleep to reach their full potential during the day and we can change that by allowing them to wake up later. In conclusion, waking up early can be dangerous because lack of sleep and hazardous weather conditions.

6:30 to be ready for school is just not enough time. It’s easy to think that. students will just procrastinate even more, but the average teenager is smarter. than you may think. It sounds absurd to think that students sleep during the school day.

Students should be able to start school at 9:00 a.m. Students should start later because kids will have a better attendance and less tardies. We’ve all woken up tired not wanting to go to school, because we didn’t get enough sleep. Of course when I say we, I mean as in teens who go to school, and possibly yourself when at the time in your life. The schedule for school doesn’t fit in very well with our sleep patterns. Sleep experts from the University of Minnesota, have found that later start times made students have a better health measure and over perform better in school (Hoofman 2). Research being done on this topic mostly specifies that bodies don’t agree with the start time, for various reasons. School start times should be pushed back an hour to benefit teens health, and school performance.

School: the noun that fills many students' stomachs with dread as they think of having to retreat from summer and wake up so early again every morning. There are some students having to wake up as early as 5 a.m. to study or make it on the bus route. Recently, it has come into question whether school boards should push back starting times because of studies conducted by medical doctors and psychologists. In my opinion, schools should start back later because students, specifically middle school and high school, cannot handle the early starting times on top of everything else they have to deal with.
Schools starting Earlier in the day make it easier for students to get to school and be able to do after school activities and their coaches not worrying that they aren’t going to beat the sun for daylight.
