When I was little my mom would always tell me about how when I was little that I wanted to be a veterinarian. She told me that I had a love for animals she has never seen before. I remember the first time we went to get a dog. I was so gleeful when we got her. I’ve had a love for animals ever since that day. I’ve had many encounters with a variety of animals, such as horses, dogs, cats, pigs, etc. I’m excited for the thrill of this adventure.
I want to be able to help animals with what they need help with. Learning new things is one of my favorite things to do. I want to help make a difference in these animals and their owners lives. Veterinary technicians are like the techies of the theatre; the organization would be able to function without them, but it would be much harder. Things run a lot more smoothly with vet techs. There are multiple benefits that come with being a veterinary technician. These benefits include, but are not limited to, a high job outlook, great room for advancement, and only two years of schooling (depending on the route you take). Above all, the animals, who aren’t always able to help themselves, are being taken care of.
For as long as I can remember, my childhood dream has always been wanting to become a veterinarian. While other kids were outside having fun at the playground, I was at the library reading books and learning about the different animals. However, as I matured, I realized that being a veterinarian isn’t just about caring for and assisting injured animals. Being a veterinarian means having the ability to make quick decisions in stressful situations, showing complete dedication and passion to this profession, and being able to effectively communicate to pet owners.

I can 't recall when I realized both my parents were veterinarians. Their work was simply a part of my life and brought me exciting and wondrous moments such as holding a newborn puppy after a tough delivery or seeing the outcome of a difficult surgery. I grew up on a ranch with many animals, large and small. Numerous other animals were brought home for either treatment or to be fostered while finding a home. My first real job was working summers at my parent’s animal hospital. I always assumed having and caring for animals was normal. In retrospect, I was incredibly lucky to have had such unique opportunities to experience veterinary medicine first hand under my parents guidance.
Through my experiences, I have learned the reality of veterinary medicine. It is not about playing with puppies and kittens. My clients might not appreciate me, my patients might be difficult, I may get frustrated, and I might not make much money. Yet veterinary medicine is about more than that. It is a career with purpose, a lifelong source of challenge, personal growth, fulfilled academic curiosity, and opportunities to impact lives, both human and animal. In return, I offer a strong scientific aptitude, along with a diverse background and natural empathy. It will not be easy, but a degree in veterinary medicine is, without a doubt, my next pivotal step in

Being a veterinarian for me is more than being around animals, but it’s the fact that you take on the responsibility of the animal’s life, some responsibilities are to examine, treat injuries and diagnose any problem they might have and many more, and having theses responsibility means a lot to me. Working at a Petco also helped me realize how much there is than to just feeding or bathing your pet. Also Volunteering made me open my eyes on how many animals need medical care. There is going be a high demand for veterinarians in the few coming years and with that there will be job security in the Veterinary

Since a young age I have loved animals, most animals are typically well natured unless cared for wrong. My passion for animals first began with dogs; I love Pitbulls, they are horribly misrepresented, but in my opinion are a great breed of dog. From dogs, I took an interest in reptiles, I first began with turtles then further progress and now I have many geckos and larger lizards. My mom has always supported my passion for animals; she has always helped me care and get what I need for my animals. My mom has helped me get to where I am and has aided me, and encouraged me to want to become a veterinarian.
Although I do not have a clear vision of what field I would like to go into in the future, I do have many interests and passions leading me towards discovery. One of which is my passion for animals. I have always had an interest in animals, which sparked from having pets at home as well as pet sitting for many of my neighbors. Sophomore year, I was introduced to biology for the first time, and found that the class was quite interesting to me. But, I found that I was more interested in learning about animal biology than human biology.
