A veterinary technician is almost like nurses, nurses assist doctors and vet techs assist veterinarians. Vet Techs assist veterinarians by performing routine treatments or duties such as taking vital signs, treating minor injuries, and giving injections. They can also take things and analyze them or take x-rays and do other radiologic test. Vet techs can work with small domesticated animals or with larger animals like farm animals. Some will choose to only assist with certain producers instead of certain types of animals (Veterinarians). They can also work in a variety of places like zoos, animal hospitals, clinics, kennels, laboratories, and private practices. Reports has said that veterinary technicians will have good opportunities in public health, food and animal safety, national disease control, and biomedical research on human health problems.
