Recommended: How is college changing your future

After high school, I plan to go to college at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. I would like to major in Architecture or Engineering. I plan to go to Iowa State because they have great architecture and engineering programs and because it is close to home. One of my goals for college is to graduate in four years with my Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering depending on what career I decided to pursue. Another goal for when I am in college is to obtain a GPA of 3.5 or above. Also, I would like to find an internship during college to help me learn how architecture firms operate as well as put on my resume for the future job opportunities after college. I would also like to find a good job that pays well to help pay off my college debt. A goal I have fifteen to twenty years from now is owning my own architecture firm because I would like to have a business I could put my name on and because I would like to work for myself.
I deserve this scholarship because during high school I have received gold honor roll every semester and an academic letter every year. While in my senior year, I am currently taking three college/AP classes to help prepare myself for college and to challenge myself. Throughout high school, I have also had to work extremely hard keeping my grades up while working a …show more content…

An example is that currently, I am taking both AP Calculus A/B and AP Statistics unlike anyone else in my high school. I decided to take both AP courses because I knew that college would not be easy so taking two hard math classes in high school will help prepare me for the many difficult classes I will take in college. Lastly, these classes have not been easy for me but because I have the drive to be the best that I can be, and want to continue to have good grades I work extremely hard studying do well in both
